It's a lot harder moving up in the higher weight classes especially when you turn pro around the age 25 and fully grown, versus a smaller weight class fighter who turns pro as a teenager and is still growing.
If Golovkin turned pro at the age of 18 he would have been a junior welterweight, but he was fully grown at 25 or whatever it was when he went pro. I can't believe people don't factor these things in.
