It's a lot harder moving up in the higher weight classes especially when you turn pro around the age 25 and fully grown, versus a smaller weight class fighter who turns pro as a teenager and is still growing.

If Golovkin turned pro at the age of 18 he would have been a junior welterweight, but he was fully grown at 25 or whatever it was when he went pro. I can't believe people don't factor these things in.

Dwight Qawi - Stood 5'5 and went all the way up Heavyweight from Light Heavyweight.

Sam Langford - Stood 5-6 1/2 and went all the way up to what now is cruiserweight; maybe slightly above. Started at Lightweight

Roy Jones Jr - Listed at 5'11.. Started at 154 and went all the way up to heavyweight.

Roberto Duran - Started as a lightweight and went all the way to 168; only listed at 5'7

If GGG is as great as some of you say he is, I expect no less than cruiserweight; possibly heavyweight if he goes up against a regular sized heavyweight (i.e. Pulev, Jonathan Banks) someone like that.

Marvin Hagler listed at 5'9" stayed at Middleweight his whole career, smh, what a bum, amiright?

Sir, I admit. I'm guilty of this.

He actually turned pro as a light heavy, then moved down to middleweight and managed to stay there for years thanks to his discipline and work ethics even though he's always been a natural light heavyweight.

Even at 30 GGG still has much to learn. He has to change up his style. He won't be able to stalk the bigger super middles the way he does now. He will run into someone's shot. So I expect him to stay at 160 for at least another year. The bad thing is I don't see anybody at 160 that poses any real threat. No one to really make him think or challenge him physically for that matter.

Beats everyone at 168 except Ward. Beats Everyone at 175 except Hopkins.

Depends on what fights he gets.

He can go all the way to 175 if he gets Mitchell, Bruseles, and Gatti type dudes. Or he can just ask for catch weights like the divas in the sport are doing.

He's also 6'1 and was on record saying it was becoming more and more difficult making 160 before the Taylor fights.
