rubio was forced to abandon his mandatory spot for a tougher fight for a different belt because cotto wouldn't fight him. doesn't that say it all? if cotto was willing to 'cherry pick' rubio we wouldn't be getting this fight

If this **** works the way I think it works, then beating GGG would rule out Rubio as a possible opponent for Quillin.

And if you're wrong we get a unification fight-it just doesn't include GGG. even though right now he and quillin should be fighting for the right to fight cotto for the lineal.

which is more important to posters-the division have a unified champion or seeing GGG unify the division?

This is what I love about Gennady Golovkin. He just fought 3 weeks ago and now he has a fight lined up in two months. It's easy to be a fan of a fighter when they are fighting frequently and you don't have to wait ****in eons for their next fight.

Another I love about Golovkin is that he is, literally...literally, cleaning out his respective weight division. You hear the phase "clean out a division" but rarely do you actually see it realized.

              (Copied from the other topic)

              Good fight, I like it.

It's a better match-up for Golovkin than Cotto. Rubio has the style to really spoil Cotto's newfound momentum and do a Trout/Lemieux job on him, but against Golovkin it's only a matter of time before Rubio either gets caught and stopped, or ends up losing in 12, or even manages to frustrate him as well. Also, Golovkin still needs opponents like this; Cotto is a veteran PPV star and only needs huge names to wind down his career.

3G has yet to fight a pressure fighter, so this should be interesting. GGG stops him in 7.

Not the most dangerous opponent for GGG, but Rubio is a solid contender.

I like that GGG isn't waiting on any divas, he's keeping busy.

this is a nice fight. rubio has been in with some hard punchers before so it should be interesting to see how he deals with GGG's power.
