There was nothing Rubio could do the enforce his mandatory position? Was it really only if Sergio won? If so, that's his own fault

Be happy mang for as long as you have him, Cotto that is mang, Roach the mang you excoriated and hated turned him into a Killa War Machine !!!!!!!

Keep GGG from Cotto if ya can mang cause GGG will bust the Killa War Machine in little itty bitty pieces.

Somehow people will compare this to salka or Leo Santa Cruz. How is it possible he got an opponent before Andre berto?

That's the fight that should be happening instead of this

Weird thing is that a cuple of days ago Abel Sanchez said in ESPN deportes that he did not think Rubio would take it and that he would price himself out, well it seems to me that he heard that and went on to prove him wrong.
Time will tell, the fight still has to be confirmed.

Whining ass Cotto fans in here. If Rubio's the best middleweight willing to step in the ring with Golovkin, then this is what we get.

Golovkin would rather take the titles off Cotto, Quillin, and Soliman. If none of them want anything to do with the best middleweight in the world, then he'll take out whoever is next in line.

Good fight for Golovkin, bad bad bad business move on the part of Rubio. He's the mandatory for the lineal belt...hold out put pressure on the commission to be of it's word if not threaten lawsuits. Grow a pair man and fight for it. Seriously they are gonna let cotto hold that belt until he can find the highest bidder to lose it to. He ain't fighting no other champion at 160. He'll get a bunch of catch weight defense...get your shot Rubio it's literally your last...

which is more important to posters-the division have a unified champion or seeing GGG unify the division?
Obviously, want we want to see is the best man in the division holding all the belts. Personally, I think GGG is the best in the division, but if Rubio beats him, then so be it.
What I'm saying is that I don't think Rubio taking GGG's belt will bring unification any closer. All it will mean is that Rubio will be avoided the same way GGG is being avoided now.

Surprised to see people hyping up Rubio. The middleweight division must really suck.
