Showtime reach out to artist Dan Cassarro for Mayhem artwork. Look at his response.

not saying i fault the kid for turning it down but comparing him to floyd is moronic. floyd is the show, whats his name is replaceable to say the least.

It does not matter what the event is or who has what position. It is crazy to ask any professional to work for free, based on a lottery system.

Take your car to a mechanic tomorrow, tell him you want this and that done. Follow it up though with you will not pay him today so you can compare him to the work other mechanics perform, and watch how quickly he shows you the door.

I don't know about that Floyd turned down $12 million from HBO back in the day and called it a slave wage look where it got him now.

Anything is better than $0 and that's what they were willing to give him.

He didn't hurt his profile at all. As a matter of fact he got us boxing junkies to hear about him. That's way better than if he would've kept quiet.

The Sampsons twins get ringside seats all the time and all they do is flash their watches plus getting paid. So how the heck all these little hustlers and no-doers will be getting more money than art?

I have no idea if he is suppose to be a name artist or not but offering some sort of sweepstakes in return for work is lame as hell.

Showtime are asking him to do the artwork for one of the boxings biggest events. His work is clearly already 'out there'.

He is also thinking longer term than you might think. Artists always get asked this stuff. Funnily enough, the bigger the company the more they feel they can ask for things for free off the little guy, because they just assume all small professionals will simply jump at the chance to work for one of the biggest companies around for 'exposure'.

But, if a huge, multimillion dollar company that pays everyone from it's caterers, booze providers, ring card girls, ushers, to it's lighting assistants isn't going to pay an artist providing the whole event of its promotional artwork, why would any of them? They'll just ask the next guy to do the same thing, and the next and the next, always getting it for free.

This isn't exposure for him. He doesn't need exposure. Clearly he's got it if Showtime are asking him for his artwork, and looking at his resume. He needs to be paid for his job. It's a pathetic cheapskate scam.

                Do you work for free?

What people don't seem to get is this exact view above. There has to come a time when huge companies that pay everyone, but this guy, have to realise that offering exposure is not enough. Exposure for what? Exposure to whom? Exposure to massive multimillion dollar cable networks putting on huge sporting events seen by millions that generate hundreds of millions? Oh wait, they are the ones asking this guy to do his job for free. So, what is the exposure? To other huge companies like Showtime? What stops other big companies expecting this guy to work for free when Showtime got his work for free? Where does exposure stop, and pay for work begin?

You people need to live in the real world for five minutes. This 'exposure' bull**** is just a cop out to try and get someone to work for free. Simple as that. Showtime have heard of him and are asking for his work. He's already been exposed. That's what exposure has got him. He's got it already. He now needs to be paid by the big companies asking for his work. If they don't, no one will.

Might have been clever if he wasn't so desperate for attention that he had to tweet it. Pretty weak when you have to tell everyone that you said something funny in a private conversation.

People thinking that an offer of a ticket to a sporting event being enough? You ever thought that maybe, just maybe, not everyone thinks like you and that this guy doesn't give a flying **** about going to a boxing show? Maybe he just wants to get paid for what he's been working his ass off his whole life for? Ever thought of that?

And it's pretty cheap from Mayweather not to pay someone to promote his fight.
