Showtime/GBP did an excellent job last year. I think the squabble with Schaefer is going to be their downfall. HBO is not immune to mismatches either. We all know they have a big mismatch coming up soon, and on PPV at that. Haymon has done a good job with Garcia, and he now has the WBA/WBC belt. However, there's no excuse for last night's bout. Showtime's card for next week is a much better night of boxing, and is more like Showtime cards in 2013.I agree with everything you said, my point was GBP are use to making huge mismatches in terms of vegas odds so they didn't see anything wrong with this one
And I'm starting to understand why Top Rank and HBO stopped working with GBP. Imagine trying to negotiate a fight with a dumbass like Eric Gomez who can't give you any straight answers and doesn't even understand the point your making
Bhop is the only one with a brain over thereComment

Maidana should never have been 16-1(was never a msimatch) but i get your point.Boxingscene let him off easy
Hes used to putting on huge mismatches like this tho, Floyd was a 16-1 favorite against Maidana, Broner was a 20-1 favorite against Molina , etc
And Garcia isn't the real Lineal champ, to be the Lineal champ you have to BEAT the Lineal champ
So by the definition, Pacquiao is still the Lineal champ at 140 and Bradley did a way better job of cleaning out 140 than Garcia didComment

Shut your hating ass up. You have no clue what you're aboutI don't know why people are going so hard over this. GGG made his career on mismatches. Kovlev had a similar one just this weekend. Pac is 20-1 with Algeri. Garcia has been fighting contenders since his 16th fight and has nothing else to prove at 140. I think its time to move up though.
GGG just fought a top 5 fighter in his division.... And got paid LESS then Danny got to fight the 77th ranked fighter, two divisions below his weight class (with a 19-3 and 3KO record), at a catchweight
Kovalev fought a guy ranked in the top 15 of all sanctioning body organizations... He held an IBO title (in the division Kovalev actually fights in) and it was part of a triple header in which it wasn't even the main event. On top of that the only reason he fought him is because the lineal champ ran away from him, and they signed a unification fight with Hopkins right before the fight
Garcia fighting contenders since his 16th fight? Kovalev has been fighting unified champions since His 17th fight and it doesn't stop there. He's fighting unification fights and having other champhons run from him
Algieri is a legitimate champion who just beat a guy who could probably beat Danny.
No wonder you're red

Algeri is still a 14:1 underdog, not much better than Maidana at 16:1. What makes it different is that Maidana (WBA) and Algeri (WBO) were champions. Salka had no business being there. Showtime/GBP has no excuse for that at all!Shut your hating ass up. You have no clue what you're about

Porter-Broook is next week, you're gonna miss out on a good fight.Originally posted by CheckThis guy is one of the faces of your company? What a complete joke. These guys are a bunch of crooks and since boxing is such a fringe sport, they are rarely held accountable. I actually canceled Showtime because of this exact event.Comment
