Hes used to putting on huge mismatches like this tho, Floyd was a 16-1 favorite against Maidana, Broner was a 20-1 favorite against Molina , etc

And Garcia isn't the real Lineal champ, to be the Lineal champ you have to BEAT the Lineal champ

So by the definition, Pacquiao is still the Lineal champ at 140 and Bradley did a way better job of cleaning out 140 than Garcia did
The odds are not what counts. Maidana was the WBA Welterweight Champion when he got is shot at Floyd. Salka was not even a top contender at any weight. The problem with Garcia is that when you're the champ, you're expected to fight the top contenders in your weight class, and if you're gonna fight a guy who is coming up in weight, he should at least be the champ of his division, just like Algeri.

        1. Lamont Peterson
        2. Viktor Postol
        3. Broner
        4. Herrera (the rematch that everyone wanted)
        5. Matthysse (a huge money fight and rematch that everyone wanted)
        6. Soto
        7. Cesar Rene Cuenca (safe non-puncher so Danny's chin doesn't get cracked)
        8. Lundy
        9. Antonio DeMarco
        10.Dulorme
        11. Aydin
        12. Funeka
        13. Molina

There are plenty of capable opponents at 140 that could have been in the ring last night.

I agree with everything you said, my point was GBP are use to making huge mismatches in terms of vegas odds so they didn't see anything wrong with this one

And I'm starting to understand why Top Rank and HBO stopped working with GBP. Imagine trying to negotiate a fight with a dumbass like Eric Gomez who can't give you any straight answers and doesn't even understand the point your making

Bhop is the only one with a brain over there

GBP should just stay quiet and pretend Danny Garcia vs salka never happened.

I said it yesterday, its not Haymon on this one, Its Eric Gomez the matchmaker - quick boxing 101, the promoter does not pick the opponents now most approve them along with the fighter, but the matchmakers are the ones who do this crap.. I bet Haymon just got Salka's name thrown at him and said yes run him by team Garcia to see what they think - its the Matchmakers that pick the opponents - Floyd is probably the only fighter that does not use one.

I don't know why people are going so hard over this. GGG made his career on mismatches. Kovlev had a similar one just this weekend. Pac is 20-1 with Algeri. Garcia has been fighting contenders since his 16th fight and has nothing else to prove at 140. I think its time to move up though.

Garcia looked 20 pounds heavier...This was like Gatti/Gamache.

Finally, FINALLY we have a boxing journalist asking questions that need to be asked. I am sick of the piss-poor journalistic standards in this sport - people too scared to get their passes revoked, shelling up when in the presence of these people who hold senior positions, too scared to ask challenging questions. Fantastic work by David.

Gomez isn't ******, he knows exactly what this fight was. I guess that's what you gotta do when you're a company man. Just lie through your teeth, only justifying it to yourself by thinking you have to do it out of loyalty to your fighter.

The worst part, is these Journalists know full well what dealing with GBP's is like. Any negative news or stories and they get threatened to get blackballed. Schaeffer was well known to threaten journalists for a negative piece. So the journalists knew they were walking on thin ice anytime they wanted to ask a hard question. Cong**** on this one.
