I do understand basic movement and Pavlik and Kovalev are very similar. One is Frankenstein and the other was a zombie..
Both are/were EXCELLENT fighters, don't get me wrong, but if we're talking about comparing athleticism, that's like comparing a donkey to a mule if you ask me.Comment

actually no it wasnt. that's not what we were talking about at all but nice try doe:
better talent, athlete, and boxer than prime undefeated Pavlik???
Honestly, they're about the same.. Both straight forward, wear you down, powerful punchers with really no head movement. Except, at the time, Pavlik had the better wins and was more proven against elite competition.
Pavlik was also favored against B-Hop and many predicted Kelly would KO Hop similar to Taylor.Kovalev is Frankenstein. How is he sooooo much more athletically better than prime Pavlik?
You're turning Kovalev into Sweet P or Ray Leonard.
Neither guy moves that great in Kovalev or Prime Pavlik, but both were very powerful and very good at what they did.
Pavlik was more proven, which is a fact.im not sure if you're a ****** or just high on ******.lol if you have to ask how kovalev is more athletic than pavlik then you dont know much about sports. and stop using extreme examples to try to disprove a point. kovalev is much more agility and athleticism than pavlik. he's more on the ball fighter than pavlik who was basically a schlepping plodder.
sure pavlik is more proven but that isnt what were are talking about here are we?Comment

You clearly don't. You're just looking at them as both being stalkers, and having KO power.I do understand basic movement and Pavlik and Kovalev are very similar. One is Frankenstein and the other was a zombie..

Kovalev is deliberate with his movement, well balanced, and can zip with his movements.
Pavlick was just less stable, and didn't always have his feet under him. Pretty much. Kovalev is a lot more coordinated than Pavlick. If they were NBA PGs, think of Kovalev being the guy that can dribble the ball, and do crossovers, while holding onto the ball, whereas Pavlick is a bit sloppier with the ball, and can't always keep in control.
Kovalev is more laser like, while Pavlick is more pendulum like. Like a wrecking ball.Comment

Your playing Monday morning Qb on that one. B-Hop was the favorite to beat Oscar but Oscar has his fair share of supporters picking him. As far as Trinidad, EVERYONE picked Trinidad. I don't know the betting odds but I'd guess Tito was about a 3-1 or 4-1 favorite. Looking back it looks ridiculous but at the time Trinidad had just KO'd Vargas and Joppy and everyone thought he would do the same to Hopkins.I mean if you are looking at names on paper....then yes.
Also both are HOF's.
With that said.......I doubt any real boxing fan predicted Oscar over B-hop or Trinidad over B-Hop.
Now I'm not given Kovalev the win just yet.....but I'm not labeling B-hop the favorite in this one, nor do I think this is a predictable fight.Comment

You need to dig a little further because I was clearly answering a question from Brother Khalid like I just said:

Not a damn person picked Oscar after the Sturm fight. Tito was a toss up though. People saw the Joppy fight, and thought if Tito could just land that one game changing shot, he could do some damage.Your playing Monday morning Qb on that one. Obviously, hardcores were probably picking B-Hop though.Comment

Max was SLOBBING ALL OVER KOVALEV cut it out. Kellerman was trying so hard to be "DRAMATIC", he can never just let things happen, Kellerman always trying to GUIDE people to Answers to say what he wants to hear.jesus christ do you even have a modicum of perceptual ability and intelligence? that is not what kellerman said or even intended. he's trying to say at his age, to fight a guy like kovalev would be in his opinion the greatest thing he's ever did.
no way in hell can any self respecting above ****** level person can come to a conclusion that max was implying that kovalev is on bhops level or already surpassed him.
seriously.Comment

that's totally irrelevant to the fact that you answered my post and we carried on a separate conversation which you lost and are now using your original conversation with brother khalid in order to save face.

To be fair, I didn't follow media prediction etc and also I'm a fan of B-hop.
Due to me being a fan, I was fully aware of his skills as a fighter. I think most predicted a Trinidad win due to his popularity and the fact that B-hop wasn't as know amongst casual fans.
It's like Donaire vs Rigo. Sure Donaire was on an impressive streak, was the guy hyped up etc......but just looking at the skills of both guys in the ring......Rigo is and has always been the more skilled guy. Same with B-hop and Trinidad. Outside of a punchers chance......Trinidad is no where near B-hops skill level.
Again no monday morning qb going on but I had watch numerous Hopkins fights (he was one of my favorite fighters) and I always noticed his craftiness and the fact he rarely got hit flush.Comment
