He may be doing something so unprecedented like trying to unify the lineal 160 154 and 147 in May against Cotto, just a thought. But in all reality I'm a floyd fan but mostly a boxing can in general love chino, pac etc etc. But what did catch my eye was a previous comment about how they have to wear 10 oz gloves for a 154lb contest. I honestly never made a hubbub about the glove thing but this did raise my eye lol

Wasn't Floyd about to drop his WBC belt when Pacquiao was like #2 ranked by WBC a few months back?

This is so sad that its almost funny.

Instead of defending vs a real 154lber, they let him get away with this. Versus a guy who isnt even ranked at 154.

"There is no mandatory in either division so it hurts no other fighters"

Oh really, what about the other 9 guys in the top ten at 154 who may want a shot at that belt and deserve it more than a guy who has never fought at 154...I like Maidana but giving him the shot to walk away with two different division worth of straps is outrageous. What is being indicated here is that as long as you are willing to pay separate commission fees we are ok with just about anything. The point of ranking systems is silent one now. First Cotto vs Martinez when Martinez hadn't defended his title in 13 months, then Pacquaio giving Aligieri a shot at a 147 belt, and now Floyd doing it with Maidana. No point grinding in a division anymore it seems...

There's always a mandatory. They just dont apply to guys like Floyd, Pac, Cotto, Canelo, etc..... They're at a stage where they can just fight whomever they please.

Waiiiit! So they're gonna have to wear 10oz gloves? Wow...

Now Im wonderng, is this more about him not wanting to be stripped or making Maidana wear more padded gloves.
