Cotto should follow Loeflers advice and tell Team GGG the fight doesn't make financial sense right now.

Where did you see that? The article I read on news24 named Cotto as a desired next opponent, along with Canelo and JCCJR.

hes saying that cuz gggs team said fighting ward doesnt make financial sense. He beats ward, that will shoot him straight to the top and he can detract his haters or naysayers, but he wont.

I think it's more about the money than to test their skills and power.

Golovkin is making a name for himself. He just did well filling seats in his debut in MSG. Cotto is huge there. What fight is bigger @ SMW (or MW for that matter) than that for him?

a fight with ward whos the number 2 p4p and beat the super six. easily beat frotch who people say they are staying away from this and that. Thats how you make a statement. Not by calling out guys that are natural 154 lb fighters.

That conversation concerned Golovkin vs Ward as not being financially viable. Cotto vs Golovkin is very lucrative. Are you talking about Cotto's marketability tanking after fighting GGG? If so, I agree.

cotto vs canelo is waayyy more money than ggg. GGG bare got 9000 in the arena while canelo sits waayyy more people than ggg. Why doesnt ggg gain 8 lbs and go fight ward. Oh i forgot hes unifying the belts. Funny before cotto won the 16o lbs belt ggg was saying that theyll fight anyone 154-168 but now he just wants guys at 160. Is he scared of ward or something?

Cotto looked sensatinal against Martinez to become the lineal champion at 160, this fight will be huge.

If he doesn't want to fight, simple, just kneel before GGG and accept that he's the better fighter. and go back down to 154.

That way he wont fight bs catchweights with titles on the line that dont even belong on that weightclass.

GGG has to kneel down to ward and admit he cant beat him. Why is GGG, who can easily make 175 lbs, calling out guys that fight at 154?

Sergio didn't know how to deal with the left hook and didn't know how to adjust to defend it. Even 2 or 3 years ago he wouldn't be able to deal with it.

Ward?? He had 2 fights since the end of 2011! His issues with his promoter are causing him to become a boxing non-entity. He is only a big draw in Oakland & that's probably fading. So who's left @ 168? Froch? He's only big in the U.K. Abraham? He's an exposed fighter who will likely stay within the confines of Europe, where he still has a following. No one else @ 168 is ranked high enough to even consider to make a big fight. Cotto @ MW is the biggest payday for GGG right now, period. Yet Cotto is scheduled to face the much larger JCCJR (according to boxrec), who may effectively end his career.

All I hear is a bunch of excuses. So its ok for ggg to call out guys that are smaller than him, even though ggg couldnt even get 9000 assses in seats? hahahahahahaha stop making excuses. If ggg wants to establish that hes one of the very best, go fight ward. "only a big draw in oakland, he fights twice a year." mayweather fights less than that at times you dont hear noone complaining.

Canelo is a huge payday for Cotto, and Cotto "has a chance" to win that fight; mostly likely won't. Cotto against GGG is a lesser payday right now, but still a good payday, and Cotto has NO chance against a bigger, full fledged Middleweight who hits like a 19 year old Mike Tyson. Geale was a very good fighter, and he blew him up from the opening round. Curtis Stevens was a 168lber, who dropped to 160 and was lighting everyone up, was supposed to be the guy to expose GGG, and got train wrecked himself, then everyone piled on talking how over rated Stevens was. Nobody has gone the distance with GGG in 5 years; that's 17 straight knockouts and he's getting more dominate in every fight. So if Cotto wants to test this wrecking machine with all his experience and the greats he's fought and the great that he is, make the fight happen at 160 then! BUT you better collect that Canelo payday first. Because it won't be there if you get lit up by GGG first.

And who exactly has ggg fought? Geale has been downed by others with no so much power. Stevens is just a brawler with no boxing technique, has been exposed to that in previous fights that he had lost. Why cant ggg fight ward? oh no money right? even though ggg can even get nothing close to 10,000 seats at msg smh
