He beat Sergio who was already 6 feet under. Miguel has to beat someone with a pulse then we will know if he's really new born or just hype in this stage of his career.

There is also a 12 year age difference and people react to knee surgery differently.

The fact is Martinez was hitting the canvas when cotto's punches werent even landing flush, he was just there for the pay day, it was embarrassing to watch.

Any non-bias boxing fan could see that Martinez was not his former self.
Yea true, Sergio just wanted the money and not to actually win the fight and move on to bigger pay days. Those left hooks sure didn't land flush.

I believe Cotto has Sergios number, that Cotto who fought Martinez was WAY better than the Cotto who fought Trout and would have beaten any Sergio i can think of. It Shows how overrated Pedro Diaz is as a professional trainer and how good Roach is as a trainer. Cotto got remastered by Roach.
Bring on Canelo, Cotto beats him
Bring on Quillin, Cotto beats him
ggg destroys cotto, if journeyman trout humiliates cotto, ggg destroys cotto, this is based on logic of cottofighting lately horrible and ggg being a destroyer of everyone by k.o, i dont care about styles make fights cause cottos zstyle is run out of gas by the end(of the fight) ,sometimes cotto looks kinda horrible(vs guys he should beat easily but barely survives -mayorga ,urango and clottey) or just decent(like mosley and marg 2-stopped by doc cus marg fought handicapped and no vision yet came out strong at the end vs cotto ), ggg will destroy cotto the way cotto destroyed martinez the gimp, , trout will never destroy ggg and ggg will humiliate trout

Its pretty obvious that he wanted to win but he was also in the twilight of his career at the age of 40.

There wasnt many pay days that were bigger after the cotto bout.

How dare you Cotto fans be happy your fighter made history. How dare you say he can beat another fighter (GGG).

So we should just come in and say GGG beats him easy? Just like everyone said Sergio would.

It's just gonna get worse when he keeps on winning.

Yeah I was surprised too, but go look it up

i called it a close fight, and said that "cotto may very well win."

i said smart money was on cotto, given the odds, and how shot martinez was.

the funniest side effect of the cotto bias is that his fanboys want Martinez to come back and start kicking ass to give legitimacy to cotto's win. they really think it's going to happen, too

was martinez shot or not, cotto fans? let's see just how biased you are. we call these questions "litmus tests."
