Truth be told, that wasn't a 70% Sergio.

I think Cotto is great. But call a spade a spade. Sergio had zero movement in that fight. He's DONE. And it was apparent from the bell.

      Really?

Ranking is not based on potential you daft ****.

Cotto beat the lineal middleweight champion for the title, for the ranking. It wasn't a non title, ten rounder, catch weight fight. It was for his title and championship spot. He beat the number 1 guy, who had been number 1 for a long time, and clearly so. That makes Cotto number 1, even though he would probably get annihilated by some of the younger, less shot (Sergio that is, not Cotto; he's not shot by any means), bigger guys.

If GGGhad beat him, he'd be number 1 too. If Murray had won, he'd be number 1 until his next fight.

Is Miguel Cotto the best middleweight on the planet? That is debatable and GGG may have a thing or two to say about that.

However, the more pertinent question is: "Who is the number one ranked, lenial belt holder at 160lb?"

The answer to that is simple, that is indeed Cotto, the man who beat Martinez, who beat Pavlik, who beat Taylor, who beat Hopkins. There's no two ways around that.

a real fan recgnizes both that cotto is a great fighter, and htat his fight with martinez was a cherrypick. martinez was all done.

cotto didn't ifgh thim when he had anything left. martinez didn't fight cotto because he was the best MW challenger. had never even fought at MW, FFS.

they fought because it was a big money fight for martinez, and a winnable fight for cotto because martinez was all done.
Sorry but when your an underdog like cotto was it is not a cherry pick.
