Yeah they beat the 'Berto test'. Incredible.

Algieri is a young hungry lion.

The funniest part is that all these Mayweather fans were going nuts saying that Algieri 'schooled' Provo but as soon as this fight gets announced he is back to being a ESPN level bum.

I'll go as far to say that he is much better then Ortiz, not being a quitter goes a long way.

Duran was not a career quitter.

Ortiz literally quit in three fights (I give him the benefit in the Lopez fight).

ok just making sure your not saying thats the only reason he is better because one fighter is better then the other because one quit

From a business point of view, I understand people not being excited about this fight. It won't generate the PPV buys that Arum will want.

At the same time, if Ruslan would have knocked Algerie out, nobody here would have an issue with Pac vs Ruslan. As a matter of fact, it would have seemed people would be excited about this fight.

So Algerie won, and personally I'm really happy for him. He finally gets to make some real money for his long journey.

The fight is bad for all the reasons listed by posters in this and other threads regarding this fight. It's ridiculous to resist all of them. To try and justify this fight over any other fight that opens 14-1 that you usually skewer wreaks of bias even though you have made good points.

You would never accept this type of fight for other highly ranked p4p fighters given these or in other circumstances. I expect same here.
              You know the drill.

i'm really curious as to how much Macau really pays Arum in site fees...seems like the old bastard doesn't care much about ppv numbers since he started doing business there

From what I hear they get a ridiculous amount of cash. So if the PPV does 250-350k It's not that big of a deal to them.

Since thats the case it should just be regular HBO, but bob wants to suck out each and ever last penny.

its bad but its not really super bad, only thing thats makes it worse is the floyd fan vs pac fan situation, they all scoff at floyds competition so i understand the backlash... will it be at a catchweight???, rios coming off a loss was worse than anything IMO that wont be topped

I think it has more to do with him taking a bigger loss in Nevada.
