What is so bad about Pac vs Algieri?

Im sick of people defending this fight , algeri is nobody , wow he beat provodnikov who really isnt that good, his best win was alvarado , if floyd signed to fight algeri pple would be calling cherry picker all this garbage and to boycott the fight , this is a waste of a fight for pac and if he doesn't wipe the floor with this kid he should just retire ! Pac should destroy this kid , should look like pac vs margarito over again !

two of them had belts when they fought floyd and all of them at least was ranked at 147 in the top 10 at 147 at the time

The only problem for me is that Algieri is clearly not well known. So there is little hype coming in.

But the irony is Maidana beat Broner to get Floyd...while Algieri arguably beat Provodnikov to get PAC.

Is Broner better than Provodnikov? Could he beat Provo? I think Provo would knock out Broner.

I think Maidana and Algieri are on similar levels.. Maidana just had a couple more big fights prior so he's a bit well known. Algieri arguably has better overall classic boxing skills compared to Maidana.

Not exactly the ideal PPV event. But options were limited.

the three issue i have with this fight are

1.Algieri is not ready to fight pac imo he lsot his last fight and it on ppv
2.pac is fighting another 140 pound fighter this would be his third in five fights
3.its a fight that dose nothing for pac.

There is really nothing bad about this fight. People complain about whether or not Algieri has earned it or is a big name but that has nothing to do with how the fight itself would turn out. Pacquiao is fighting against a style that people say he usually has trouble with and that's why it's a tough fight to call. And he doesn't have that many options so Algieri makes the most sense.

Some people need to remember why they pay for fights; is it because the fight itself might be interesting? Or is it just because of name recognition? Just to remind people, skills isn't measured by name recognition. That's how you get hypejobs. So I'm not concerned about how big a name Pac or Floyd's opponents are. I'm looking at what he does in the ring. And based on what I've seen of Algieri, I'm interested enough to want to see how well he does against Pacquiao.

We need some new names in the sport. Forget about all of this "he needs some more fights first". That's what holds some guys back when they clearly deserve a shot at bigger names (Keith Thurman is one example). If Manny, Floyd, Cotto, and Martinez's windows are closing, then we need some more big names, starting now.

If you honestly don't know why this fight is wrong then you're one of the reasons the sport of boxing is in the state it's in now.

Just the simple fact you have to defend this fight is bad enough.
