Maybe now Rigo won't have a choice but to go to 126 and follow the money, because the well just dried out at 122.
I cant remember when he bought it but if he's been making 500k a fight then he should have plenty of money... for now. And assuming he's smart with his money.

I personally think it's dumb when a boxer buys a fancy car. If you're not Mayweather how are you gonna afford it when you get out the game? Cause you're not gonna be fighting forever.

There's plenty of fights at 122 its just that it's no guarantee that he'll get them.

      It’s really that simple.

In just his 12th pro fight, he defeated reigning Fighter of the Year Nonito Donaire in impressive fashion, rendering Donaire’s two-fisted attack anemic while making him look silly.

Was Rigondeaux catapulted to new fame? Did he receive greater exposure while receiving the riches that accompany it? No, quite the opposite.

For his latest bout, televised Saturday on tape delay on Spanish-language network UniMas of all places, Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KOs) was far from boring, as Bob Arum and HBO have suggested of the fighter. Rigo needed just one round to dispatch of Sod Kokietgym in Macau, China, though the conclusion came with some controversy. After a nasty clash of heads that left Kokietgym (63-3-1, 28 KOs) wobbled on the canvas, the fighters touched gloves before Rigo quickly threw a furious two-punch convo that put Kokietgym down and out. It wasn't anything like Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz, but Kokietgym clearly was taken by surprise. However, that was his fault. He failed to protect himself, and Rigondeaux did touch gloves. Only lucrative fight is Frampton, he won't get that much fighting LSC.

Yeah but what people have to understand is Rigo beat Donaire and Arum didn't want him to. So post fight, Arum and HBO made excuses for Donaire, **** on Rigo and did everything he could to salvage his investment. During the fight, HBO kept talking about Donaire's preparation leading up to the fight because they were trying desperately to protect their investment.

So what happened is they blackballed him, the boxing media circle jerked with them because they need to keep their credentials and get interviews and the Rigo hate crusade was in full effect. So they give him an HBO date, up against a big ShowTime card. The venue was an hour or so away featuring not only two popular BK fighters, but another Cuban star on the same card. They also put Tapia on the undercard who has a good local following of fans who just want to see him fight and walked out when his fight was over.

All of this crap was planned. It isn't a reflection of the state of boxing.

Good luck if you leave Top Rank. Maybe GBP can help you with Showtime... don't see Hyde being thrilled either if Rigo signed with Haymon

Lucrative yes but there's plenty of GOOD fights to be made. I dont think anyone is expecting Rigo to make the same money and he should expect the same. Hyde needs to drill this into his head.

I cant argue with this cause we all know this (or most of us). Im with you on that one. I was just trying to explain the guys point without all the extra whining that he added on there.

I think hes saying that this new generation only cares about punchers and are slowly forgetting about guys who represent "the sweet science". That this generation of fans only tune in to watch "blood n guts" while dismissing guys who represent what the sport stands for.
That's not true at all though. Ali was a "runner." Leonard was a coward "runner" in the Duran rematch.

Boxing is and always has been a blood sport, with fans who want to see blood and decry anyone who doesn't cause it. That part of boxing is the one part that has stayed true forever.

I totally support This article , it is based in thruth .

Rigondeaux one of the best out there .
Bob arum and hbo were mad cause he exposed the joke of ducknaire .
Bob attack him instead of promoting him .
When he fought agbeko , agbeko didn't engage and rigo was to blame .
That same night , showtime had a fight in the same area : New York . I believe Judah , Lara , malinagi , etc , fought that night .
Tickets sales for rigos fights were sold late .....

A lot if bs . Bye bye .
I'm sure if Haymon takes over , things will be better

There are plenty of fight for rigo to be matched with : santacruz , mares , Kiko , Loma , etc .
And yes , rigos tko was clean : he touched gloves and resume the attack .
                      It was legal .

Thanks , al Haymon . Ja ja .
Hit and not be hit : rigo is the best at this .
