Yeah he clinches -- but the ref should be free to warn/deduct if so. Vlad fights the way he does and also knocks out nearly all opponents. And most big HWs clinch, as well as you will see more clinching in almost any HW fight. Part of the game.

And even if some big heavyweights do, it's nowhere near to the excessive extent Wlad clinches ALL of his opponents.Comment

Vitlai never clinched Sam Peter once. Didn't need to. Wlad couldn't stop mugging the guys back. Why is that? How come his only recourse against a slow , no skilled plodder - was to lay all over his back? In two fights?Comment

actually peter was doing more of the holding in that second fight. wlad knocked the crap out of him in the rematch. he did clinch alot in the first fight thoComment

Even the Germans started boo'ing him. And Germans boo'in their own fighter is unheard of. Which tells you all you need to know about this clown.
Blown up fat an old MW Toney fought Peter for 24 rounds and never had to desperately hold and run to stop him trying to box like Wlad did.Comment

What Wlad does can't even be called clinching. It's more like some sort of modified wrestling move, as far from regular clinching as a knee in the knackers is to a punch below the belt. It's a completely disgusting and flagrant breach of the rules that there is literally no legal way to counter. If the ref doesn't enforce it the opponent is forced to cheat in order to avoid the debilitating effects of a 240lbs man leaning on their back. Haye repeatedly dropped to his knees to avoid it and ended up taking a count, Chambers tried to throw Wlad and was warned. Povetkin should have lowblowed him to death but was too much of a gentleman to do so. And if that wasn't bad enough, Wlad spends entire rounds grappling more than he actually throws punches. What Mayweather and Ward do in comparison isn't even a fraction as bad, and I dislike watching both men.Comment

But keep thinking it's some racial thing if you want. That seems to be the only way your mind can process anything.Comment
