Lewis could probably beat fury himself right now if he came out of retirement

About 3 posters have been trying to explain that to you but you dont seem to get it
Some people don't buy it....an frankly there are some good reasons not to buy it. First off, the competition does not show Vlad has gotten better. Clinching for dear life is not reassuring either, it certainly is not a testiment to greatness.

Fact is though instead of arguing til the cows come home it should be interesting to see how he does against Fury...Fury has skills and if he decides to take some risks and go after Vlad we will learn a lot.

I would have tremendous respect if Fury gets knocked on his ass going for it, as opposed to what jennings did.

First and foremost I'm a fan of the division you don't sit through fights like Wlad vs Ibragimov, Fury v Del 1 and Oquendo v Chagaev unless you are. I respect Fury for his achievements although I feel they are minimal yet he was left at the alter by Haye and could have somewhat had a couple more thoroughly convincing wins like the Chisora 2 fight in that period, I'll admit against Abell he was facing a live dog and his moments of being uncomfortable are understandable considering his lengthy lay off.

It doesn't suit my agenda to rubbish Fury, I just wish he had of faced Pulev, a win for either Pulev or Fury and then ultimately losing to Klitschko then appears Wlad has a better win on his résumé than simply beating them as an undefeated untested challenger. It is an issue throughout boxing, not in heavy alone with all the fragmented belts and titles its a joke. Fighters rewarded for avoiding the tougher challengers. Do I rate Fury particularly highly, I don't feel we've had chance too !

Do I feel Fury is deserving ? Yes, absolutely. After Pulev and Povetkin who else is there for Wlad to fight, only Stiverne, Fury and Wilder, the other guys like Ortiz, Parker, Martin and Joshua are far from ready. They can wait, Wlad ain't going no place.

On topic of the fight, from what I have read I hear Fury has shed nearly forty pounds, that in itself I believe tells us his game plan, and contrary to what Peter would have us believe I expect with Fury being so light he will come with the same plan he had vs Johnson, stick and move, with his weight being relatively low in the 215-220 pound region I really don't believe he will have power to be concerned about and intends to fight at a high pace for 12 rounds like versus Johnson. His power IMO is already questionable. Do I expect this fight to go the distance, no. Do I expect Fury to stop Wlad, again, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Lets not underplay Wlad's victory before if has even happened. Fury may be a figure of ridicule but when conditioned he is quite an active fighter, could Lewis hurt him now of course he could, but last we saw Lewis in the ring his fat ass nearly destroyed the stool he slumped onto.

I'd like to ask what credit does Wlad get if Fury turns up and gets knocked out ? This is nsb, where credit is minimal. If Wlad has to stalk a light fleet of foot Fury and still wins is that not a more convincing victory ? I really don't see the height and reach discrepancies playing a huge roll in this, I've seen Fury's fights and its not as though he utilises them superbly, had Steward have trained he'd be one slick oiled pristine fighting machine, who on earth has his uncle trained apart from Eddie Chambers who hasn't been relevant since Wlad took his soul.

Yeah, because Lennox is completely unbiased when it comes to Tyson Fury.....

Many boxers and analysts think that Fury can win. Steve Cunningham for example, who has sparred both fighters.

              • So called "fans" like Easy Work & ThatLeftaMarc do Wlad no favours.

If Wlad wins, rather than it being celebrated as one of Wlad's best ever victories against a massive, unorthodox, in his prime boxer like Fury, they'll encourage other casuals that Fury was never any threat, and was a fat bum.

There's a reason why this fight is generating so much excitement, even old school Wlad guys like Freedom & Weltz are excited about this fight & give Fury a chance.

*edit* Obviously Wlad is a heavy favourite, it's completely understandable considering his achievements and longevity. However Fury is the biggest threat he's faced for a long time, and if he comes through it, then imo he's cemented himself as one of the finest HW boxers of all time.

                • All the Wlad hardcore keep harping on about how Wlad is a different animal now yet spectacularly fail to grasp (or just plain ignore) the possibility that the same is true of the much younger Fury. They're both significantly different fighters from a few years ago; only Fury, by dint of his age, has shown a more drastic improvement in a shorter time. Wlad's had a longer time to mature.

Bringing up the Sanders, Brewster or Cunningham fights is pointless at this stage. Neither fighter is the same as they were back then.

Well, posters like Easy Work aren't exactly helping his case any.

Fury's a live dog and needs to be acknowledged as such.

                    • It's a much closer fight now than it was years ago no doubt

A lot of the same guys who consider Fury an unproven bum are Wilder fans apparently unable to measure irony
