Of course, I only watched the fight once. And intoxicated.
how can your drunken scorecard be any more reliable than that judge.

Lara stunk up the place and lost.. simple as that.. theres a thin line between footwork and just flat out running for your life.. Lara pawing at canelos elbow with weak jabs doesnt score points, and then running like hell when canelo let loose. He lost, no robbery, no conspiracy.

"You know what that was like, that was like robbing a bank. You're robbing a bank, the alarms are sounding off and you walk out and you know that people are going to accuse you of robbing a bank."

"You don't want them to accuse you of robbing a bank so all of a sudden you put on a pair of sunglasses on and a use a [walking] stick. And you start whacking the stick around and people say 'oh, it couldn't have been him, he's blind.' For me, that's what Martinez did. The alarms were going off and Martinez said 'it couldn't have been me, I did nothing wrong, 'look I gave a round to Lara.'"
Classic. I actually laughed out loud.

The fourth round and on Canelo for me took a lot of rounds,I'm not sure he took seven rounds on the spin, but in the fifth he really destroyed and took Lara's heart, the guy really had what little fight he brought into the fight beat out of him in that round,to me it was like Lara gave up during that round and didnt try to win the fight thereafter.I really can't argue with 117,the rounds were close statistically.Canelo won with ease in the end though,I think the card 115 for Lara is more questionable than the 117 for Canelo card.

It's funny when Floyd gets 10 rounds on at least one scorecard nobody complains because he still won the fight regardless of a scorecard, when manny gets the same too nobody complains. Canelo wins his fight and gets one crazy scorecard everybody who swore lara would win can't take it like a man and has to whine and cry. Did the right man win? Yes, most people seem to think so. Does it really matter the score when the winner of the fight gets his hand raised? Nope. Funny don't see nobody complaining about the one judge who gave it to lara and gave him some questionable rounds at that when the guy was doing the 100 meter dash in reverse practically the whole round pawing at nothing. Lara gave this fight away, it's time people own up to that fact. Nobody but Lara is to blame for the outcome..all you "watch it in slow motion" nutjobs can go and do just that watch that whole fight in slow motion again and get back to me on what Lara really did to win that fight beyond the first 3 rounds.

There's no question as it was clear as day that Lara won this fight but the judges robbed him fair and square as I was disappointed in his performance. So, I agreed with their decision to award Ginger because he didn't deserve to win this bout. I've seen him perform better and in my judgement he could have done a lot more.

As far as Canelo is concerned, he was clearly outpointed and lost but didn't deserve to lose it based on his body language alone; Which won him the fight. Of the two, he appeared to have want it the most and showed more signs of life, fight and vigor than Erislandy Lara also.

                  Excellent post.well said.

Far too many biased opinions on this site,I like Canelo and I usually enjoy styles like Lara's,I'm not a huge fan of both, put simply I enjoy watching both guys.

Their really isn't anymore to this story other than Lara hadnt the heart to win.

All I will say about this post is thank god we have qualified judges judging fights rather than so called fans of the sport.

Oh spare me your outrage Teddy. You're always trying to act like some big conspiracy is going on... Lara lost plain and simple. You don't get points for making a guy miss and running. Canelo gets points for aggression alone in my book. Defensive fighters have to stop running and expecting to win fights that way.

BTW, Teddy, are you still mad that Freddie Roach fired Michael Moore? Keep hatin' on Pacquiao bro lol we see you out there...
