There are many different variables to boxing. Pure boxers are one, but there are also fighters that can effectively fight on the inside that is part of the sport.

If you don't allow a man to fight his fight on the inside within the rules, you may as well tie his hands behind his back.

We will see Floyd tie Maidana up anytime he gets close, and the ref immediately break them ALA Joe Cortez.

Warning for head butting is valid when a fighters blatantly uses it and head butting is at no time within the rules, but there are ways to fight on the inside within the rules.

Floyd doesn't want Maidiana to be able to be allowed to fight the way that would give him the best shot to be effective. Deck will be stacked against Maidana with thee gloves, fighting Floyd, and Floyds hand picked referee.

Maidana has no shot but to show up and ge paid.

Are you forgetting the Marquez fight? The reason I brought it up is because he has apparently requested to defend the JMW belt in the Maidana bout, where obviously the weight limit is 154lbs.

Now he can tell and agree with Maidana that he's going to make 147 but he likely won't be stripped of his 147 belt if he goes over, and he's shown he's willing to pay any financial penalty if it gives him an edge (gloves,weight w/e).

Right but why is that a good possibility?

Why would he weigh above 147?

He'd rather weigh 147 so why would he come in he heavier?

Gloves, refs and all that aside..it's still going to be a similar fight as far as geography imo.

The referee wasn't the one transporting Maidana right into Floyd's grill in those early rounds, Maidana's footspeed was. That was one of the primary predictions made by fans of Maidana and other people who wanted to see this fight. It aided him for the first 4-5 rounds, but then he allowed Floyd to draw him in too far and he smothered a lot of his offense. In a fight that I believe he will need to be looking to pick his shot a little more, having a strict ref come in and break inside work will not hinder Maidana. i think he needs a little more space than he did at time last time.

anyway, Mayweather is really playing it up this time. He seems to be focused in on Maidana. Should be a good fight
