no robbery no way no how ,lara lost a fight where he stopped throwing and began running even more than he was early on, judges do not like that shiat, the more damaging punches were obviously landed by canelo ,the action was pressed by canelo and those body shots did enough to slow the craybaby down the stretch.
Lara stinks the joint out and isnt even very effective at that single occassional wimpy shots arent going to work .
Good dec. No re-match warranted and besides who'd even wants to see lara's gay ass run for 12 rounds again???? No thank you.

my initial thought though when i heard the 117 card was that they gave it to lara but anyway....i gave canelo round 9 but lara took rounds 10-11 canelo took the 12 making it a draw for me so idk, if the 3rd judge scored it 115-113 i there would be no talk about robbery, i just thi the 117 card is what set set alot of people off iin to thinking robbery...but lara has no one else to blame for this loss, he blew it!

I don't really even care about the 117-111 card because the 115-113 card for Canelo was a joke too. He was outboxed. And according to the criteria for scoring a fight, he won in a landslide. Clean, effective punching Lara dominated. Effective aggression. Ask yourself. How much of Canelo's aggression was effective? Ring generalship. Lara got done what he wanted to get done more so than Nelo. Defense. Lara's defense was worlds better than Nelo's. Please explain to me how according to those criteria for scoring a fight did Canelo win. You don't lose a fight because people aren't entertained by what you're doing. And that's basically what happened to Lara last night. And now, fans who don't like his style and would rather not see him again are acting like he didn't win last night. If they wanna black ball him like Rigo, fine. But he should have gotten his victory and been able to fade into Bolivia, as Iron Mike would say.

No way. The Williams fight was so bad all three judges were suspended by the NJSAC.

I thought Lara won last night 115-113. The one judge who had it 117-111 for Canelo should be banned from judging forever.

The loss to Paul Williams was a robbery (probably Martinez vs. Williams I too). However, last night was a close fight that didn't go his way. He never established himself as the aggressor. At least against Trout and Angulo, he ran but then planted and threw effective shots much more often. It's ironic that Lara says he has no respect for Canelo, but last night, it looked like he had too much respect for Canelo's power.

Granted 117-111 was a bogus score, but really Lara had been getting kinda out-there in recent days leading up to the fight anyway. I'll watch it again if they re-air it this coming weekend, but really, the man has himself to blame for being way too economical with his punches.... especially in the championship rounds. I like both fighters, but really, this was no robbery. I just hope Shields is able to talk some sense into his head, because if not he's heading down the Rigo road of a fighter who will have a rough time getting TV fights FNO.

Amazing post. I wanted to highlight some points, but I realized I'd be bolding the whole damn post.

I was going to make a thread about scoring in boxing. People want to change the rules nowadays. Want to change the rules? Fine. But as they stand right now, Lara won that fight last night. In baseball, for instance, the team that scores the most home runs isn't automatically the winner. The team that scores the most runs, regardless of how they're scored, is the winner. People may not like Landy's style, but that doesn't change the rules. If Ali were fighting today, he'd lose a lot more fights. Let's change the name of the sport while we're at it.
