Canelos a mediocre fighter. True "hypejob," IMO

Pacquiao vs Margarito was an upset and Margs was 15 pounds above him, so I suppose this would also be an upset even though it shouldn't be so much. But little guy vs big dude would always seem like an upset-possible fight.

He's fighting who he is supposed to fight and beating opponents I expected him to lose against. I wouldn't call him a hype job.

We're quick to judge fighters for ducking xyz, but slow to give praise when they step up to the plate.

He's definitely not bad for the sport lol. Kidma shoved down our throats IMO but that's just me
Yes I didn't like canelo a few years ago when he was being showcased constantly vs hatton, Rhodes, cintron, and I did feel he was hype, but the kid has improved and has fought nothing but dangerous fights the last 2 years,,

And people forget he was looking to fight Kirkland and Paul Williams a few years ago...

IMO canelo has proven he is world class and not hype.. I don't think he will ever top p4p lists, but he is a much better fighter than a hype job

I agree with both of them being overrated. I thought they were both a bit overrated going into this fight

And 154 just isn't very deep or good IMO

You make some decent points here

But his non-showcase fight wins were very underwhelming for someone who gets rated so highly by some

Wasn't he scheduled to fight Williams or am I wrong? Would have been a good fight, but Saul was still raw at that time, Williams would had taken him down.

Yes it was basically signed,, first canelo was gonna fight Kirkland but Kirk priced himself out and then said he was injured, then it was supposed to be Paul Williams, but then Williams had his accident, and then it was suppose to be victor Ortiz but he got his jaw broke by Lopez, and in the end canelo fought Lopez

Yea, it was scheduled when Paul got in the accident. Williams would have won that.

Lara connected at will. It's a good thing he coasted. Seems he could have pounded Canelo's head like a double end bag in a non WWE fight. Money well spent by Golden Boy and Showtime.
