That was BS in my opinion. Lara boxed Canelos ears off and clearly won, I just don't see how someone could give Canelo 7 rds.
As soon as I heard 117-111 I knew they gave it to Canelo.
Props to Canelo even though I don't think in any way he deserved the W.Comment

i had it a draw.. had lara outlanded canelo by maybe 150-97 in power punches then we could disscuss a robbery! lara lost alot of his fans because he talked the big game, confronted canelo onstage and failed to deliver in the biggest fight of his life on the biggest stage, ppv...he should have fought more instead of running around the ring..those body punches paid dividends for canelo tonite, not saying he didnt land upstairs either, its just those body punches were herendous to lara...anyway lara did this to himself plain and simple.....iam going to re watch the fight and see if i get the same score..
Didn't take any risk and that gave the impression he was fighting scared.
I'm not arguing with any of the above, still Lara was imposing his pace and, in my opinion, deserved the nod.
What pisses me off though is not the decision in itself, one can disagree on a fight.
My problem is not with Canelo, he took a dangerous fight, went there and gave his best. My problem is with the politics around boxing.
It's the 3rd time we see some kind of BS in a Canelo fight. Trout first (the open scarecards going all his way) , then Floyd (the draw in one of the cards) and now Lara.
It seems to me that one scorecard was already filled in before the fight and this keeps on happening with Canelo.Comment

Lara was too negative , he kept the pace as low as he could.

it was a close fight but im glad canelo got the decision. lara didn't let his hands go nearly enough and was extremely frustrating to watch. i also don't like the way he rarely goes to the body especially against an opponent who's known for having questionable stamina.Comment

Usually I'm rooting for "the Cuban School" -- which one doesn't have to like in particular, but only to agree it's very difficult to deal with...
Therefore I voted here for Lara's win, but I took a wager with Canelo over Lara -- because the Mexican simply could not afford another loss at this stage of his career.
... I was right to take that wager because I won 50 trillion points (from jas).
(I watched the fight on Youtube, because I fell asleep at 6 o'clock in the morning -- my local time... I didn't like the fight...)Comment
