Argue about his chin, since he doesn't get hit often, but no one can question his body. He gives the opposition his body on purpose and I've never even seen a grimace on his face from a body shot.

      4th.

By far the most exciting round of Floyds career.

      Amazing round.

Lampley described it as "Gatti-Ward 4" Wouldn't go that far but it was a great round.

Looked like he panicked about when he got cut against Maidana.

That's the first time I can say I've seen him panic.

Just rewatched it. It seemed like he was sort of a little shaky throughout the entire round, but I still think Mosley's punch had him more instantly hurt. There he buckled badly and held on for dear life.

          But yeah, great round!

Oh yeah it's arguable for sure. Mosley may have hurt him more at the time of the punch but I think he was stunned abit longer against Corley.

Against Corley Floyd just stood toe to toe and ****** with him, he got hit a lot in that round. Both guys were hurt. For me that's by far the best round of his career entertainment wise.

Floyd was surprised at how competitive it was imo. Don't think he expected Marcos to do so well.

That's the first time I seen Floyd without his steady focus between some of them rounds

                odd chin.

a guy who has been at the top for so long without getting stopped obviously has a good chin. it's boxing, and stuff happens. you walk into stuff and you don't always get a chance to react. even floyd would have woken up on the canvas from a shot like that if he didn't at least have a good chin.

now, let's talk about floyd getting hit with big punches. the biggest shot he's taken was against mosley in 2010. mosley has a weird right hand. he whips the thing. his explosiveness and his athleticism wasn't what it was in his prime, but he could still hit in 2010. mayweather was hurt, but he didn't go down.

the first big right hand comes well before the second. it's a straight punch, and it lands right on the jaw by the look of things. shane throws a jab away, and follows with a punch that's designed to land, a straight right hand. floyd wobbles a bit, but immediately reacts. he even holds onto the right hand after it lands! nobody with a crap chin does that.

the second right hand is super wide. it's a bigger punch, with more ass behind it. it's hard to tell if it's on the point of the chin or the jaw. it's looping enough that it's not going to be all knuckles. it's still a big time punch that would have stopped most welterweights. floyd wobbles a bit, and clearly displays the type of behavior you expect of a man who has been stunned, but he's not wobbling around and holding on for dear life. his legs were effected, but certainly not gone.

i think mayweather has a good chin. the maidnana fight saw floyd taking a lot of punishment to the body, but there were good headshots as well. he looked vulnerable, but he never looked ready to get stopped.

we're going to find out more about floyd if he keeps fighting. he's 37, guys. he's slowing down. he's human.

i was going to / should have made mention of the cut in my post about floyd looking vulnerable in the maidana fight.

he definitely looked bothered by it.

Despite having an ATG defence like every boxer he gets hit and seems to shrug it off better than most, he is one of the best at hiding when he is hurt.

Apart from Mosley and that lanky southpaw he faced (can't remember his name) I've rarely seen him visibly hurt, ODLH landed a massive right hand on him I think in the 11th and he shrugged it off so well, Maidana landed some huge blows and he shrugged them off like nothing..

The fact that's he's never been officially knocked down in his whole career is amazing..

Out of 10 where do you rank the sturdiness of Mayweather's chin?
I cant really separate Floyd from RJJs chin. Between these 2 I wouldn't have a clue who has the better chin. I would suspect its RJJ, he at least took Ruiz punches.

FLoyds chin is untested. He rarely gets hit with punches he don't see or expect, as he rarely goes all out attack, pressing for a ko now does he? Hes not going to get hit with the one Pac got hit with against JMM that put his lights out.

Usually Floyd is in defense mode, allowing his opponent like Maidana throw 1000s of punches at him while ducking and diving, and yes the odd one with get through occasionally, but it tells us nothing about Floyds chin.
