I think it is his balance more so than his chin. Most people who get hurt lose their composure so the follow up punches do more damage; when Mayweather gets hurt, he is usually in a good position to weather the storm which, I think, is down to him being sure-footed.

His chin I'd rate as a 7: big shots won't make him fold, but at the same time he can't eat them like tictacs.

recent testament to his chin Marcos countered Floyd's pullcounter with a right hand of his own. Floyd appeared unaffected

Against Corley Floyd just stood toe to toe and ****** with him, he got hit a lot in that round. Both guys were hurt. For me that's by far the best round of his career entertainment wise.
        Good point.

Mayweather though knocked Corley down in that round, after getting stunned.

6.5-7 out of 10 ... he has a real good chin can't really consider it great because you can see it in his body language that he does not like to be hit and resorts to holding to prevent himself from being hit when his defence fails

This might be the first thread I've read where Floyd isn't getting constantly bashed. I think it's really hard to rate his chin because as been said many times, it's rather untested but after so many years obviously it's very good. The cut really bothered him and I think for maybe the first time Floyd looked a little old sitting in the corner.
