    Thanks for the post and a good analyses from Dougie, as usual. It will be a good fight and the best part of it is no more flaming back and forth between the fans lol. Anyway Canelo has to close the distance to explode his combos and rip Lara to the body, but cutting the distance is easier said than done. Especially with that powerful left hand patiently waiting in the wing for a mistake from Alvarez. Canelo will need to be able to absorb punishment if he wants to attempt to win this fight because Lara is a much better boxer with great movement and speed.

      This is very true. One of the reasons why Angulo had success. He was able to take the punishment. But he was only able to do it for so long.

        Yes, Dougie makes good points and speaks non-stop. He's very good on camera. This one video is worth more than all Dwyer's videos put together, as far as I'm concerned.

        I'm leaning towards Lara in this fight, mainly because I believe he's quite capable of outboxing Canelo. I believe Saul needs to probably stop him in order to win this fight. I don't see that as likely. Some people point to the Angulo fight as proof that Alvarez will catch Landy. As Doug correctly points out, Perro is a pressure fighter and Canelo is not. As long as the judges don't drop the ball, I think Lara wins on points. Of course, this is a bout between two well-matched fighters, so anything can happen. It's going to be very interesting to see how it actually plays out.

          Everyone has their limit. Alfredo was disfigured by the end of that fight. He soaked up a tremendous amount of punishment in knocking Lara down twice. I don't think Canelo punches any harder than Perro, and I don't think he has the style or inclination to charge into Landy's wheel-house over and over. Alvarez will have to box, and I don't think he's good enough at it to beat Lara at that game.

            if canelo learnt something from the mayweather fight, he won't try to outbox lara like he tried against floyd, i agree with the above, angulo had some success against lara 'cause he was able to absorb punishment for a while

              This guy know boxing, myself too I see a 50-50 fight, but I think Canelo will bring something that no dude has brought before to Lara, Canelo is gonna hurt Lara that's my prediction.***65279;

                Exactly. Canelo is not the type to take some just to get his in.

                  Canelo likes to box, or show he can box. He has a stubborn-streak. Alvarez surprised a lot of people by trying to box the master in Floyd, and it took him longer than it should have to give up the ghost. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Saul tries to box Lara. It's going to be interesting to see how Canelo adapts when he finds he can't play Landy's game.

                    Lara's an exceptional counter puncher. His opponents have to pay a toll to get to him. Even in the Molina fight, where early on he had difficulty landing his straight left to the head, he was timing Molina coming in with sizzling lefts to the body.

                    With Lara having the height, reach, footspeed, and slight handspeed advantage (IMO), given Canelo's style and temperament, it's going to be difficult for him to find Lara.
