Well, in a street fight with "no rules" you can pull hair, bite, gouge eyes, use weapons, ect. People who think MMA fighters are Gods in street fights often forget this, no technique can help you against a brick coming at your teeth or having your eyes gouged.


In a MMA bout......well Venus Williams could beat Floyd and Manny both in a tennis match; different sports.

MMA is closer to street fighting than Boxing is but that doesn't mean I'm saying its a better sport or that they even have better athletes. I'm a hardcore boxing fan and a casual MMA fan. I did stream the UFC card tonight cuz there was no boxing to watch

Someone whos used to throwing elbows and knees in their sport would feel right at home in a street fight. Floyd would be out of his element and would get seriously hurt vs Rousey in a MMA or street fight. Theres no question that he beats her in a boxing match tho, probably a 12-0 unanimous decision

Why are people so convinced that MMA is so effective in a Street fight?

They most likely won't know they're up against a boxer unless its a huge name or they know them personally so they are most likely going to swing punches.

How many Street fights truthfully, not in your dreams have you seen MMA used effectively? And I don't mean two drunks falling over each other and 'grappling'

That's not how it works. It isn't boxing. You don't just "stick and move". If the standup isn't going someone's way they're allowed to tackle you and break your arms. Unless your opponent is extremely exhausted then you don't "move away" from a takedown; you stuff it and in the process need to know how to fight, not just box.

What else would he do but shoulder roll then get thrown on the ground like a wet sack? He isn't trained in MMA.

If you said Floyd gets to train with Aleksandr Karelin, Kazushi Sakuraba and Semmy Schilt for 2-3 years then fight her, OK, that would change everything, they would teach him how to fight.

But we are talking about actual Floyd from real life. What would he do when someone shoots on him? Push them off with his elbow? Wait for the ref to separate them? Oh yeah that's boxing.

Never in her life has Ronda been hit with the combo of speed, power, and accuracy that Floyd would connect with.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying its totally rendered useless in a Street fight buts its noway the be all of it & its more a case of just talk.

Anybody can claim for example Aikido is massively effective and they will do this and that but against someone resisting and fighting back, its not going to go exactly to plan.

I mean look at that video, what a joke, his technique was horrendous and he couldn't even keep down a kid he outweighed by 15lbs or more that had zero conditioning or fighting ability. Hell the kid didn't even look like he wanted to fight at all to me he just didn't want to look a wimp in front of his little brothers.

3 minutes and the kid walked away with a scratch, pathetic. Put that kid against any amateur boxer and he gets starched inside 10 seconds.
