No way, Hopkins would get respect, you can't lower Kovalevs stock for losing to an ATG, that's not fair, especially when Hokpinks isn't gone like RJJ was at the tail end of his career where a victory over him is tasteless.

You have to tune those people out.

If Kovalev wins, he still beat one of the 3 best light heavyweights, no matter how old.And if someone needs explaining as to why Hopkins should get a lot of credit for beating Kovalev, they aren't worth the effort.

Most people would give the proper due to the winner.

Whoever wins deserves props. If Hopkins wins he is a definite TOP 20 (perhaps much higher) ATG. If Kovalev wins he beat an ATG (perhaps not at the top of his game) but an ATG nonetheless.

What I've learned in the past - never bet against Hopkins.

Hopkins could very well frustrate the hell out of Kovalev.
