Yeah there's no question that PPV events are watered down today.
Case in point, the Canelo/Angulo PPV. That's about as clear cut a regular Showtime subscription fight as one can be -- yet fans had to shell out $70 f**king dollars for it. Pac/Rios was basically paying $70 to see how Pacquiao would come back after the KO (against a virtual sparring partner), and Floyd/Guerrero was paying $70 to see....well, Floyd and once again, a virtual sparring partner. Hell Showtime damn near made Broner/Maidana a PPV fight!! Lmao.
Canelo/Lara shouldn't be a PPV fight either. That's a very good fight, but one that squarely belongs on Showtime subscription. Not a $70 PPV.
