Let's see what Canelo-Lara does...my guess is it does under the Angulo numbers.

But no major Mexican/Mexican American boxer on the Mayweather-Maidana, Pacquiao-Bradley II and Cotto-Martinez ppvs. That's the market, and Arum knows that.

This number is good for Canelo and it's good for DLH...provided he doesn't lose.

It's also good for JCC Jr.

Disappointing for sure but being the 4th of 4 consecutive PPV's def doesn't help.

It being the Stanley Cup/NBA Finals also definitely didn't help.

What I really took from that is that Arum is still talking about Cotto-Bradley as if it's the most realistic fight.

Am I the only one to notice this?

What they have to do is, Sit down with the Cotto's, Canelo's, Pacquiao's and Mayweathers and say "Look, Customers are simply not willing to pay as much for you to fight Joe Blow. We know you deserve a higher payday, but no more silly guarantee's"

Reduce the price of PPV's, to like $39.00 of what they are now 60-$70, cut out the PPV distributor middle man and do a direct HD internet streaming.

HBO and SHOWtime could easily set a package like that up. The price savings alone of cutting out the Cable PPV distributors would be massive. They would recoup 95% of cost per buy instead of 50%. Top Rank already has a great Streaming service in place.

Who else can he feed to Cotto within the Top Rank stable? There's only Bradley really. Maybe Marquez if you wanna stretch it.

Should be a world championship boxing main event but not the way things are today.

              good.

these promoters are going out of control with all the ppvs recently.

not everybody is ppv worthy. you have to have at least one superstar in the sport for a ppv fight.

cotto is a star but he's not a superstar. it didnt help that sergio was off for so long either.

Not sure he has any other options. Either that or send Cotto to the enemy (Mayweather) or to die (Golovkin). If the Canelo bout can't be made then Miguel's in a bad spot.

"All the numbers boxing has been getting on pay-per-view have been terrible. It's not disappointing; it just is what it is. There are too many (pay-per-view cards).

"Pay-per-view was always designed, as was closed circuit back in the day, for true super fights, not just very good fights. There have been pay-per-views every month and people resent the fact that they're asked to pay extra for anything halfway decent
. Boxing pay-per-view numbers are down. Look at the (recent) numbers for the (Floyd) Mayweather and (Manny) Pacquiao fights. The UFC pay-per-view numbers are also down."

Been saying this for a while now. This year has gone way overboard with the PPV. Many of them are Boxing after dark/Show Box calibre matches. I'm glad these cards are flopping. PPV should only be for real superfights.

That being said, Bob needs to lay off the morphine if he tries to push Pacquiao-Algieri after saying all that.

                    I agree with this.
