They haven't been protected from eachother though.

Khan and Garcia fought eachother, Peterson and Khan, Peterson and Matthysse, Maidana and Lopez

Matthysse and Garcia, Maidana and Broner, Porter vs Alexander, now Lara is fighting Canelo, Mayweather and Maidana fought, Stevenson will most likely fight Hopkins next, etc. etc.

Hardly overprotecting. Easy to call fighters babies behind a keyboard though.

Take it from Thurman, doe. He claims that he's being ducked by everybody. Broner, Khan, Matthysse, these guys' last fights didn't come from this group. Guerrero is back fighting a nobody. Not Thurman, not Broner, need I continue? What over protectionism my ass.
      You got

      Broner v. Maidana
      Maidana v. Khan
      Khan v. Garcia
      Garcia v. Matthyse
      Matthyse v. Alexander
      Alexander v. Porter
      Berto v. Ortiz
      Peterson v. Matthyse
      Maidana v. Lopez
      Alexander v. Maidana
      Khan v. Peterson
      Ortiz v. Maidana

These guy's are fighting each other.

We need Junior Gong on this thread to spell out your silliness.
Honestly, what promoter, manager, adviser has not done this?

Yet you have no problem with Pacquiao fighting an unranked Brandon Rios or GGG fighting tomato cans. Pacquiao is supposedly a P4P fighter and should be held to Floyd Mayweather standards. But we both know he's not Mayweathers equal. Only problem is I can admit that while you can't. So my question is this. Do you have high standards for every fighter or just the Black American fighters?

Garcia-Matthysse fought eachother. Great fight, both Haymon guys
Compare that to Garcia's next fight. I know it ended up good but it was made to be a showcase for the Haymon fighter.
Matthysse's next fight was against Molina. Again, fun fight but it was a fight made for Lucas to win. Also he then made Molina sign with him to get the fight, so now that's another guy he will use the same strategy with and he has done this with many fights.

Also he is a big part of the network dispute. All of his guys are on Showtime, so making fights with other outside big names very difficult. There has always been some guys that were tied to a network but this is the only time in history where you can look at just about any fighter and they fight either on showtime or hbo. He ruins good fights like Stevenson-Kovalev by doing this.

His fighters get network dates no matter who they fight. Yes, this can be blamed on the networks too, but to stop it would involve both network to agree to stop this. He left hbo to go to a network that will comply with him. Why? Bc Showtime wants to broadcast Floyd's fights and the other big stars that he manages. So they give into all his demands

I get that fighters want to be paid and he somehow gets them paid, this is helping him get more and more fighters to go to him to get those big paydays. But the more people we see with him, the more of the issues I just outlined.

Btw it's not just him, many other managers do some of the stuff he does. It's just that he has the biggest and best stable of guys so he is able to get away with more so it is worse for the sport than if a small time manager tries to do it. Is he a great buisnessman? Absolutely. Is he good to his fighters? Absolutely. Is he good for the fans? Absolutely not
So condemn Haymon and excuse the others? That doesn't seem right at all.

This really bothers me too. The amount of tune up fights Haymon fighters take up on Showtime Championship boxing is horrible.

Garcia-Herrera was a showcase fight gone wrong. Thurman-Diaz, Stevenson-Fonfara, Hopkins-Shumenov, Peterson-Jean, Porter-Malignaggi, etc. None of these fights were competitive on paper. This is what Showtime has turned into and we as fans shouldn't be applauding this. It sucks.

Gary Russell Jr is finally stepping up in competition and it was pretty much forced by the sanctioning bodies.

This is bull****. People have been hating Haymon since him and Ross Greenburg were giving us crap fights on HBO. Now him and Stephen Espinoza are giving us crap fights on Showtime.

bunch of ******s on this forum... Haymon is a sports agent. Thats all... he's not a promoter. He negotiates contracts with networks and promoters for the sake of THE FIGHTER. He creates the smartest business plan for the fighter. All his fighters get dates and get $$$. His fighters don't have to listen to him. He advised Broner not to fight Maidana, but Broner did anyway. Ultimatly who a fighter fights is up to them with the advising, suggestions and plans brought to them by Haymon.

If I was a professional boxer the first thing I would do is sign on with Al Haymon. Anyone who tells or says they wouldn't is full of shtt.

As Floyd said "I'm a prize fighter dummy...I fight for money..a prize"

I'd rather be making what Broner makes than Jesse Vargas....

Haymon advises his clients to not sign multi-year contracts with promotion companies so they have leverage. Extremely smart move.

I would rather be in Shawn Porters promotion situation (fight by fight) than Andre Wards....

Arum dont use that many fighters on a ppv lol I just dont get it the reason promoters dont do business with haymon is he dont let them **** over his fighters and dont let them sign these extensions he wants what they are worth without extensions tied in thats the real reason arum wont work with him. Promoters number 1 trick is forcing fighters into extensions obviously managers shouldn not let that happen. Why this dont fall on the promoters dont make sense to me. I think what it comes down to is peoples odd amount of hate for mayweather. When you see someone like arum being defended when he is known to screw fighters then see someone like haymon who helps the fighters gets bashed. These promoters dont want to share they want all the money for themselves just look at what manny made his last fight how is that even possible after all the money he made top rank. I honestly dont get it if people hate him for the cold war or fights not happening is just ridiculous. The only reason arum and other promoters wont do business with him is he dont let his fighters get screwed say what you will but in my opinion this is all ass backwards and until people realize that nothing is really going to change.
Al Haymon killed Stevenson vs kovalev and 3G vs chavez so that's why I hate al. I can't understand why a boxing fan would like this jackass. He's a sports worst nightmare.
