What about Lara and Canelo? Probably a top 3 important fight of the year right there and guess who is one of the managers for that one? Porter and Brook is far from a tune up fight as well.

Thurman is also getting ducked by a lot of guys, again, Haymon can't force these fighters to fight that guy.

Omg seriously? Lara Canelo? He manages Lara, not Canelo (the money maker in the equation). Obviously he is going to make that fight. He has a guy that isn't a draw at all and is getting a seven figure payday against the 3rd biggest draw the sport, of course he's going to make that fight, he's not the one taking the risk. Canelo is the one taking the risk in that situation. He can get the same money against a much weaker opponent with a bigger name, instead he's fighting the guy who deserves it most. THis is how you manage a career. If Canelo was with Haymon and Lara wasn't I doubt this fight gets made

Thats what HBO does to build fighters it put them in with lower class opponents for them to beat down and look good. They did it to Berto/Broner/GGG/Kolalev
But you don't like Haymon because he gets his fighters more $. Unless you work for HBO why should it matter who gets what .if anything GGG / Kovalev should get better managers.

I wouldn't mind watching the Stevenson / Kovalev fight but right now Bernard/ Showtime bring more to the table with belts/ $/ Legacy then Kovalev does.

Sergei hasn't done anything except beat bums and have earth shattering power. If they both keep winning then I don't see why this fight wouldn't get made. If there's enough hype and $ involved it'll probably get made. But in the meantime Sergei should take on legit names not just feast on C class fighters

Over paying for fights effects us fans, directly. When they do we either get less fights or more PPV fights. So don't act like this shouldn't be an issue for the fans. It is.

It's no guarantee he'll make more money fighting Hopkins than he would with a 50/50 split against Kovalev. Legacy? What did beating Hopkins do to Chad Dawson's legacy? Not a damn thing.

bunch of ******s on this forum... Haymon is a sports agent. Thats all... he's not a promoter. He negotiates contracts with networks and promoters for the sake of THE FIGHTER. He creates the smartest business plan for the fighter. All his fighters get dates and get $$$. His fighters don't have to listen to him. He advised Broner not to fight Maidana, but Broner did anyway. Ultimatly who a fighter fights is up to them with the advising, suggestions and plans brought to them by Haymon.

If I was a professional boxer the first thing I would do is sign on with Al Haymon. Anyone who tells or says they wouldn't is full of shtt.

Haymon advises his clients to not sign multi-year contracts with promotion companies so they have leverage. Extremely smart move.

I would rather be in Shawn Porters promotion situation (fight by fight) than Andre Wards....

I would rather be in Brandon rios or Tim Bradley's promotional situation than porters. Both made more in their first PAC fight than Maidana a haymon client got to fight Floyd. They got more than Ortiz or Guerrero got as well. Bradley's minimums are very high. Not all of the top earners are haymon fighters.

Why is that? Haymon has put his fighters in tough before. If Haymon fighters want to fight these guys he will fight those guys.
