    of course not.
you guys need to chill out. start acting like you've seen a fighter get old before.

ranking a fighter takes time. resume need to sit for a while before you can appreciate the context needed to discuss them.

if martinez comes back in his next fight, looks like a million bucks, and beats a contender at 160, it will lend the win a ton of credibility.

my guess is that martinez retires. if he doesn't retire, my next guess is that he looks like absolute sh#T in his next fight, and is eventually stopped again if he continues to box.

i know it doesn't feel right because he was such a late bloomer, but martinez was all done. he had almost 60 fights. he had boxed over 400 rounds. 400 rounds...

martinez was done, man. done. he very well could have lost to martin murray. he was almost stopped my JR. macklin had him in a very bad way. war with williams, hard fight with pavlik. royal ass kicking from margarito early in his career. he was done.

cotto beat sergio martinez dead body. sergio mora would have beaten martinez last night. canelo beats him. hell, f#cking angulo might beat him. he was done. the martinez that beat the f#ck out of bunema, and gave jim lampley a five year erection, is not the guy cotto beat.

      exactly.

pacquiao would get the same grief. golovkin and ward, too.

ward has no business beating a guy that size anyway. golovkin is a bigger middleweight with a real chin and power, and the only guy ward should fight if he takes a MW opponent.

Mayweather is greater, it's not close, and Cotto/Martinez is not the best win either has. It's not even Cotto's best win.

Realest post on this thread. This sums up the thinking of most "fans" on this site. Floyd mayweather would get crucified if he faced any of the fighters Pacquiao or Cotto has faced and defeated them, if Cotto or Pacquiao defeated Mayweather's last 3 fighters, they would be considered solid good wins for them, rumors of Mayweather-Garcia surface, people bash it right away, a week later Arum and Roach mention Garcia next for Pacquiao and everyone is like "Oh thats a cool and interesting fight, lets do it!" lol cmon guys.. Cotto is the man but alot of fighters would have put that version of Matinez down Saturday, but maybe not as impressive as Cotto did.

Co-Sign....Cotto fought damn near everyone, in their primes mostly. BUT, imo if Cotto goes on to fight Canelo and GGG AND beat them, we might be having a different conversation!

If some people are trolling fine, but if people really believe Cotto has the better resume are just ****ing idiots. Can someone tell me Cotto's best wins from 140 to 154 and Floyds best wins at 130 to 154? i think once you actually see it on paper you will see the difference.
Also Floyd and Manny get criticized for CW fights, COTTO WON AT A CW AND FOUGHT A 39 YEAR OLD FIGHTER COMING OFF ARGUABLY A LOSE. LOOK AT THERE RESUMES AND THE FIGHTERS THEY FOUGHT AND LOOK WHERE EACH GUY WAS RANKED AT THE TIME THEY FOUGHT THEM, FLOYD WINS AND ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Moving up in weight and fighting Martinez which was on 7 fight win streak four out of those by knockout and considered the king of the division or fighting Cotto that at the time was on a 3 fight win streak over margarito, mayorga and foreman and losing to Pac before that? Personality I would say beating Martinez is the bigger accomplishment.

                    This poll is ludicrous.
