If you do a treatment with stem cells to regenerate cartilage of an already three times operated knee, takes 1 year and a month to recover and you think that you will win knowing you were not 100%, you clearly underestimated a great fighter like Cotto based only on size and clearly fought for the money. Any top 10 Middleweight had knocked out Martinez last Saturday.-

if cotto isn't elite neither is martinez, if sergio had the likes of pacquiao or mayweather roaming in his weightclass, they'd have ***ed him up also
and the guy that lost to trout was fat cotto, plus just a bad style matchup
Cotto was elite and a great fighter at 140-147...not at 154 and up. Martinez was clearly elite at 160 during his tear through pavlik through chavez jr. He started to show signs of wear in the macklin fight, where he was already 38 years old. The 12th round in the Chavez fight pushed him over the edge.
As far as im concerned he was completely shot already in the Murray fight, where he looked like absolute garbage and was reaaaaaallllly lucky to get a decision.
I thought there was a chance the surgery and 14 month layoff might be enough for Martinez to bring back some old greatness. He clearly didnt.

Yuri Foreman and Margarito both got approved to fight...and we all know how those fights went. Cripple city.

Sergio was a 2 to 1 favorite.... everyone kept sayin he is not delvin R. That cotto couldnt hurt trout so how is he gonna hurt sergio... I bet sergio on the fight I lost.... I give cotto his props he is a student of the game and is getting better with time... Dude didnt look good, he look great... Im sure if sergio was washup the betting odds would have been different... By the way vegas doesnt give away free money..

Cotto only looked great because he was fighting a cripple.
Dont bother explaining that to a Puerto Rican though cause they will claim you are insulting their mother for not giving Cotto credit.

Two questions:
Name a top 154/160 lb. fighter that Martinez would've beaten Saturday night.
Second, would you pay $$$ for Sergio vs. (Anyone of your choosing) on PPV after what you witnessed Saturday?
After all, he's not shot. His knees played no role so why not?
