  • Fans were robbed Saturday night.

I am a Cotto fan. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. But Saturday night he fought a DISABLED opponent. We were all lied to on Sergio's true status. He was shot. Let's keep this in perspective people.

I disagree. The undercard was fun, although Sonsona-Vasquez left a little to be desired, and I loved the main event. It was more Cotto catching Sergio cold than anything. He's admitted this. Why can't anyone else understand? Was Sergio 100%? No, but we knew he isn't what he once was, and it's not like Cotto isn't battle worn himself.

He didn't look disabled when he was bouncing around before the fight

And hes fighting a guy thats a blown up 147 pounder, it was a even fight with the "injury"

Only time I saw Sergio having trouble staying up and moving was when he got clocked with that left hook. Before that he looked ok to me.

Cotto did good, he lit Martinez up. I look forward to seeing Cotto defend the belt and I hope that Sergio has a good talk with his team and calls it a day. Unless Cotto is on some schit, Martinez' punch resistance is not good enough for him to take punches anymore. Cotto hurt him with every punch he threw and I'm not calling Cotto weak but a man 10-15 pounds lighter than you should not be able to hurt you like that so easily. It reminded me of when Bradley fought Ruslan after he cut all that weight but Ruslan does hit like a mack truck too so....I dunno.

Bradley had the same thing happen to him even way worse but he rebounded and was able to outbox Ruslan for many of the middle rounds. Sergio recouped a little bit there but he stumbled throughout the fight. The knees can be OK in a sense as in walking, no serious scar tissue, etc. but they can be weak. It doesn't take much for knees to give out when they have been out of commission for a while and the rehab wasn't complete. You can walk around fine and do moderate activity but putting abrupt weight loading on them and them switching to a state of mobility right after can irritate the weak tendons. Once they are irritated, they just give out under little loading at all.

Sergio was fine just like Margarito's eye and Yury Foremans knee were. I thought he was at least 80%. Cotto should fight Ali for silver heavyweight belt at a catchweight, I'm sure Ali will b fine also just drinked too much caffeine and had the shakes.

In Puerto Rican, being upset with Martinez for lying about his knees and failing to be a competitive opponent makes you a "Cotto hater".

I would think that his knees must have been giving out on the regular during sparring for this fighht if they did so easily during the fight. And I hadn't heard anything like that of him during camp.
