Well...at least Ward is being talked about more than ever before. For the wrong reasons, but definitely something that can be leveraged.
Carl Froch: Americans don't want the Ward fight so what's the point?

thing is Froch can lose to Ward and then go right back to fighting kessler, fake jr, etc for big bucks. it doesnt hurt him or his marketability at all.Comment

Excellent post. Agree entirely.Comment

Yeah just like Froch knew he couldn't beat Groves and was going to duck the rematch....obviously Ward is a different challenge but I don't think anyone should question Froch's belief and willingness to take tough fights.
Andre Ward needs to do his part by becoming more relevant. Froch has been doing his dirty work for the past couple of years.
I'm sure everyone in England knows who dusted their boy worse than anyone ever has.
Look at Ryno's posts, at least he's not got his homer glasses on as tight as you.Comment

That's not what I meant.
What you said is true, of course.
But I was meaning purely from a fight perspective.
I mean did anyone really, I mean really, think he would lose his rematches against Groves and Kessler?
But does anyone really think he would beat Ward in a rematch?
Disregard all the business aspects of boxing. Carl Froch cannot beat Ward and he knows it. The fact it isn't smart financially for him to take the fight merely gives Froch a convenient reason not to fight him.
PLENTY of people thought he'd lose including myself. George Groves was a horrible style match up for him and battered him for long periods of the first fight. MANY were questioning Froch's belief in winning that fight and whether he would even take it.
It's not a convenient excuse, it's a legitimate reason. If the fight was the most lucrative to Froch, he'd have no problem taking it. He almost didn't take the Groves rematch but when he saw the numbers it could generate, he changed his mind. It's that simple.Comment

Everyone who read your post is now dumber for having done so.
Still mad about 1776?Comment

Froch will never beat Ward, and that's ok. He can have his own career and wait till Ward moves up to claim the top spot at 168 while making entertaining match ups.Comment
