It's not a convenient excuse, it's a legitimate reason. If the fight was the most lucrative to Froch, he'd have no problem taking it. He almost didn't take the Groves rematch but when he saw the numbers it could generate, he changed his mind. It's that simple.
Then plenty of people weren't thinking clearly. Anyone who looked at the situation objectively could tell a Groves win was a longshot. History has told us when people write Froch off he comes back and proves the doubters wrong.

And I don't like the guy by any means.

Also Froch was ordered to rematch Groves by the IBF.

I want to see Ward put on another clinic and end Froch's career.

We really don't because we don't think it would be competitive Froch SORRY!

Froch vs Chavez Jr would be more interesting and their styles would go well together.

Fans would like to go into a fight at least THINKING it is a 50/50 Fight, after watching the first fight...Ward vs Froch 2 would be a tough sell here in the US at least.

What, except the fact that Groves dominated the first fight, battered Froch for long periods (worse than anyone ever had) and had Froch the most hurt he's ever been in his career?

Yeah there was no way Groves could win the rematch....lol.

Froch could have quite easily given up the IBF belt. His mandatory is DeGale now and he'll likely drop the title because DeGale isn't as lucrative as the Groves rematch was. So wrong again.

Froch went straight up to Andre Ward after the Kessler rematch to confront him.

Ward needs to know his role if he really wants the rematch. He is the one who is actually preventing it.

He's not wrong. While I disagree about him beating Ward, he's right that there's not much demand. Froch-Jr is the big money Vegas fight he wants, and I'd bet my left nut that's what's gonna happen.

Is anyone really interested in this fight apart from Ward himself?

Ward's in a difficult situation. He's beaten everyone in the division and there's no financial incentive for most of those guys to fight him again. However, it is difficult to feel sympathy for him when he's so inflexible himself.

Travelling or moving up to make a fight are things that he should at least be considering given his current position. Complaining about guys avoiding you when you barely leave your own house just looks silly.
