you've got people in this thread who appear to think atlantic city and oakland are the same place, or that ward had a "hometown advantage" in a fight in AC.

it's not a big deal when an American doesn't know about the lines in the sand you draw in the shire. who gives a f#ck?

we're on a boxing website, and an american one. knowing where atlantic city, las vegas are is important.

in reality, the scorecards were very clearly slanted in froch's favor in AC. ward fought clean, and in a neutral venue, and destroyed the best british fighter of his generation.

it speaks for itself. it's the laundry, bro. you guys don't have many top level fighters, so you're biased. we get it, man. we really do. the best fighters in the world fight in the US. you covet that. when you get a decent fighter, you're riding that jockstrap.

just say it with me; "andre ward destroyed carl froch."

An American fighter fighting in America is not a home advantage. Sure.

The average Yank thought Froch was fighting in his "hometown" against Abraham in Helsinki because it was in "Europe"

I agree with that. Plus at the time Showtime was trying to build Ward up. People make it sound like Wards at the negotiating table making decisions. He's a fighter and he doesn't run his own career.

i like froch. he's a warrior. he's great for the sport.

the way brits overrate him is f#cking absurd, and evidence of their lack of understanding of the sport. it's about the laundry for them. they're much more nationalistic than american fans, who act like we've been there.

You speak for me on this one....Froch is s different class of fighter totally. Ward has beat the best he can right now and that is a bit of a problem for him as well.

First of, I'm not British. Secondly, cool, let's agree, if another city in the same country doesn't count for a home advantage, then Ward should not worry about fighting Froch in London or wherever else in England.

Oh... And yes. The best boxer in the world is from USA and he destroyed Froch. But wouldn't the best boxer in the world take the biggest challenge available? Mention just 1 more fight at SMW that would be more dangerous than fighting Froch in England. If you can't, then it's settled. The best should take the toughest challenge available, and that happens to be Froch in England.

Andre Ward is the Pauli Malinaggi of his division. I don't mean to suggest they have similiar skill sets, and Ward can't run his mouth as well as Malinaggi, but you watch a guy with a great skill set and pillow fists. I love the sweet science but when the certainty of a boxer almost NEVER hurting the other guy at all is present, a bit of the excitement goes out of even a good match up. I'm not knockout crazy, but even a slim chance of KD or even backing a guy up plays into strategy; both Malinaggi and Ward assure you nobody's getting hurt, so settle in for a hard 12.

Ward is not pillow-fisted. His power is average. He got 27 victories, 14 by KO. Not a powerpuncher, but consider that 4 of his decisions came against Froch, Kessler, Abraham and Bika (all with solid jaws).
