20 defenses against whom?
Lineal titles are great, but can you really compare Calzaghe's resume with Froch's?
The first Groves stoppage is how almost half of Calzaghe's wins happened.
Calzaghe ducked Glen Johnson of all and never fought the big boys earlier in their careers. Tell me how many names did Froch ducked? Froch went out like a Sheriff on a search of those guys aka Super 6 and fought them. Froch earned his respect by fighting all over and anybody in their primes.Last edited by Box-Office; 05-31-2014, 06:17 PM.Comment

I'm not defending Ward either and he wasn't undisputed #1 until he beat Kessler, which again, was in his home town.
Froch was champion and still defended his title in different countries. Froch's resume is also miles better.Comment

I thought he clearly surpassed Joe Calzaghe when he beat Lucian Bute.
Froch still has no win as good as the version of Kessler Calzaghe beat or Hopkins, and I doubt Froch beats Hopkins, even a 50 year old B-Hop. But the sheer amount of names on Froch's resume led him to surpass Calzaghe and his 3-4 good wins. Hopkins, Kessler, Bika, Lacy(the shock/upset value of it at the time makes it a good win) vs Pascal, Taylor, Kessler, Johnson, Bute, Groves, Abraham.
There is still one more fighter i'd like to see Froch fight to see how he would react to the style, that Calzaghe beat in his prime effortlessly, Sakio Bika.Comment
