Why Lemieux vs Quillin?

I don't think Stevens is the puncher others do. His power comes from his speed. Hes not this one punch K.O artist people think.
Hes knocking out 154lb journeyman who have been stopped half a dozen times before against everyone they have fought who isn't a total scrub.
He has good power but nothing special in my eyes. Lemieux is far heavier handed than him, its clear as day regardless of who he failed to stop (like one guy you'd expect him too)
Lemieux for all his faults is a massive puncher. He may even hit harder than GGGComment

One good thing I can say about Lemieux, that s an improvement from his rubio fight, is that he has developed a very sneaky counter left look that seems to come from nowhere.
He has shown that in his last two fights, and produced the first knock down in both of them. One was official and one not official, but it started his opponents derailment, and that could save his a$$. He tosses it in there right when an opponent is throwing a combination.Comment

Come on you know it doesn't always work like that.
GGG has failed to stop guys himself who have been knocked out by lesser punchers, it happens.
He is still a kid & was probably out partying. His stamina would suspect he wasn't as dedicated as he should be.
I'm not saying he great by any stretch, he is crude as hell but you can't question this kids power, surely? Just about everytime he touches a guy they are on the deck or their face is left disfigured. He has huge powerComment

What tripe.
I have always been hugely critical of Geale and it would be the same if Sergio was to fight him. He is vulnerable & no better than a Macklin.
Would he beat Macklin head-to-head? I do doubt it.
Hes only relevant because the division sucks balls. There is nothing special about Daniel Geale in the slightest. A Euro level fighter bordering world level due to the division being dead.
I doubt the latter too, I think Lemieux would knock him out.Comment

Geale was nothing even before Barker beat him. Now he is talked up as a GGG opponent hes suddenly this great fighter?
Geale don't beat Quillin either. He isn't on Quillin, GGG, Sergio, Jacobs, N'Dam's level.
A Euro operator who lucked a title against a shopworn, unmotivated Sturm who has looked vulnerable as hell for the last 5 years.
GGG gets more credit from me for beating Macklin than he does Geale. He is a frontrunner!Comment

The lack of quality is flattering his power.
Good puncher but he is not a great puncher. Has he shown one punch power against any real legit middleweight? That is with him coming down.Comment

Based on what?
He don't beat any of those guys, not one & I'd bet real money on that. He is Euro level, seriously.
Outside of workrate he does nothing particularly well.
Quillin & Jacobs K.O him with ease, N'Dam takes him to school.Comment

Oh he definitely hits hard for sure but IMO noway near as hard as people might believe from him disposing of guys who have no chins, defense & ideally should be a weight or two lower. I think 3 of the 4 last opponents he has fought was 154lb journeymen all of which had been stopped a lot of times.
The lack of quality is flattering his power.
Good puncher but he is not a great puncher. Has he shown one punch power against any real legit middleweight? That is with him coming down.
Anyway, I'm not against Golovkin-Lemieux but Geale is the more accomplished fighter, former world champ who holds a win over the current #2 (Sturm) and is actually ranked by the WBA.
Did you watch Quillin v Konecny? Imagine Konecny's workrate with punches that actually landed. Geale has too much for Quillin.Last edited by Weebler I; 05-25-2014, 12:59 PM.Comment

Geale beats all of them. He's far more tested than all of them and beaten better opponents. Quillin has no skill. Jacobs is ok but I have serious doubts he'd survive 12 rounds of Geale. N'Dam probably gets worn out and stopped.Comment
