Adonis Stevenson made the third successful defense of his lineal light heavyweight championship, but was forced to climb off of the canvas and go to the scorecards in order to retain his crown.

A thrilling affair saw three knockdowns scored between Stevenson and determined challenger Andrzej Fonfara, with the champion prevailing by way of unanimous decision Saturday evening at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Scores were 115-110 and 116-109 (twice). [Click Here To Read More]

Fonfara has heart no doubt after the liver shots and low blows by Stevenson.

All I have to say is that I hope to never hear again that Stevenson is a better fighter that Kovalev.

I thought the title said Stevenson turns away Kovalev, lmao hahaha

Anyways, I still give Steveson a chance to KTFO Kovalev in the first 5 rounds.

Ok so now both Kovalev and Stevenson looked meh in their last fights. Stevenson had the more game opponent in front of him. I will say this though, if Adonis fights Kovalev and leaves his hands down the way he does after throwing a punch, Kovalev will light him up forreal. Stevenson did not look impressive tonight. Fought very predictable. I wont be surprised at all if Bhop out boxes him for 12 rounds and unifies the titles in a boring but convincing one sided boxing match. I hope it doesn't go down like that though

Fanfara doesn't strike me as a wuss, yet he winced many times throughout the fight. Adonis must hit damn hard. I could feel those body shot by Fanfara's facial expressions.

Being outboxed by Campillo for most of the fight, I thought Fonfara beating him was a fluke. Then he goes on to almost pull the same thing against Stevenson.

I think Fonfara is a tougher opponent than given credit for...but I mean this fight makes it pretty clear why Stevenson fought Tony Bellew instead of Kovalev and why he got cold feet after agreeing to fight Kovalev...dude would rather breach a contract than fight Kovalev.

Fonfara only really has that left hook..that's his KO punch he landed it hurt Stevenson and followed up with a right...

Kovalev will keep coming and his shots have a lot more power in them..the problem with Stevenson is that he punches himself out..and when he's not hurting a fighter...he's doesn't fight well going backwards...

I can see Kovalev taking Stevenson to the ropes in the later rounds and stopping him...
