Broner probably has the same terms, like Thurman and Porter, with Haymon/GBP. I read somewhere that Broner can break his link anytime for a Pacquiao fight.

Bottom Line...Al Haymon has more POWER IN BOXING than Oscar mostly because he has Mayweather as his bargaining Chip but also because he has the ability to get his fighters A LOT MORE MONEY which is why he is able to get a lot of fighters to sign with HIM

Oscar is the NAME, his lack of stability makes him unreliable IMO, you sign with Oscar he heads back to rehab...THEN WHAT? Now your career is stalled until your Promoter gets his life back together. What would have happened to GBP had it not been for Schaefer and Haymon keeping things going while Oscar went off to get his life together?

Oscar is taking the bigger risk trying to do things on his own because all he has is Canelo as a fighter he can claim as "HIS FIGHTER" on that GBP Roster. I am sure he has MORE but most of the big names at the moment on that GBP Roster are Haymon Fighters. Oscar is just the NAME but Schaefer has the KNOW HOW when it comes to setting up events.

He wants to end the "Cold War" because he knows he will NEED ARUM and maybe HBO as well if GBP Splits

Thanks. I just googled it and Keith Thurman does claim to be a free agent. I wonder how many other fighters are in the same boat...

I guess Richard Schaefer really was trying to screw over Oscar by not signing them to his promotional company but taking on all the costs to promote their fights. Can't really say I'm surprised he's going to get fired.

It's strange to me that Thurman is a free agent but signed to Haymon when Thurman is mostly accompanied by Schaefer. It almost seemed like Schaefer wanted it that way.

I doubt Oscar is going to run the company by himself. Sure he's obviously trying to mend relationships with HBO and TR. He's going to be the one with connections in the company, but I don't think that means he's going to run the company alone. He's just going to get someone to replace Richard Schaefer. Let's face it, these guys you get to run business side of things are a dime a dozen. It shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable replacement.

I guess that's what Main Events was talking about when they said Haymon is in violation of the Ali act and acting as a promoter...Going to be interesting to see how that plays out in court

Bernard Hopkins always thanks Al Haymon and Richard Schaefer specifically after his fights. Wouldn't surprise me if he's also a free agent with no contract to GBP

Replacing Schaefer would be the EASY Part but what about finding TALENT, Oscar haven't done a good job at that AT ALL IMO other than Canelo. Oscar pick fighters based on how they LOOK not really how skill or talented they are in the Ring

Khan and Victor Ortiz did not work out after he put a lot of work into hyping them when they was at 140 ESPECIALLY Victor! So you can have the NAME and get another guy to replace Shaefer but fans are coming out to see FIGHTERS FIGHT, not just because Oscar name is on it. Lets say Canelo loses to Lara...THEN WHAT FOR OSCAR?

Are you suggesting Haymon will take all his fighters with him and work with other promoters? What am I missing? You mean all these fighters listed in the current GBP roster would move en masse to, which promotional company?

The fans too are associating his name with not getting what the fights they want.

Things are turning on him just a little, you can only lose so many friends in business.
