Much has been made of Golden Boy's fighters being signed to Al Haymon rather than Golden Boy Promotions. However, these free agent fighters, the Thurmans and Porters still need a company to promote them and in the absence of Schaefer Golden Boy are unlikely to agree unless they sign contracts with the company. Top Rank of course are off limits to Haymon. It's also likely the HBO-GBP feud ends with De La Hoya vowing to end the Cold War.

Where else can Haymon go with these fighters?
Just saw dlh say "lots of great fights to be made # endofcoldwar"

He wants people to think he is, but he isn't, he won't answer that question to retain an element of mystique.

they dont even have a promoter's license.

you can have all the money in the world if you dont have a promoter's license it wont matter.

what happens if oscar becomes vindictive and refuses to work with haymon?

what's haymon gonna do? work with arum?

            Promoters > Managers

people will know soon enough. Haymon power is more overrated than floyd's resume.

Floyd won't even take fights against risky fighters, but you believe hes going to risk his little 120 million on fights he can't control?

Looks like he'll be forcing his way out of boxing then. At some point, no matter how power hungry one is, they still have to learn to work with others.

there's a reason why floyd and haymon still use GBP.

they dont have a license. and if oscar decides to act like a vindictive tw@t and refuse to do business with haymon, what's haymon gonna do?

haymon's reach, power, and influence have been grossly exaggerated by the you know who crowd.
Why use your own money when you can have somebody else foot the bill which is what essentially they have been doing. They had no need for a LLC when they could who're out GBP.

We also can assume that many on that list, who are promoted by Oscar, may cut ties with Haymon as a show of good faith to Oscar.

I am not sure what role Haymon has in their contracts, but if it is strictly a managerial contract, a fighter can fire him. Andre Dirrell did a year or two ago.
