Not enough money, he has'nt fought anybody credible, switching labels, next he will be faking injuries!!! Hopkins will beat this haitian clown this fall if he decides that he will actually take the fight with hopkins after he blows out fonfara, which by the way has no business in the ring fighting for any kind of a belt.
It really gets tiring to keep educating you dumb asses at this site. Stevenson only has about 3 maybe 4 more years in this sport before he is pushing 40 years old.

A simple break down is this: Stevenson has to make as much money as he can and very quickly. Kovalev is THE LEAST LUCRATIVE FIGHT of all the top 175 pounders out there.

I can hear some of you dumb asses who know next to nothing about boxing ask, "Then why fight Fonfara smart guy"? Simple: Stevenson is making his debut on ShowTime and needs a "stay busy" fight before facing the always dangerous and elusive Hopkins, it's called "build up".

In other words Fonfara is a stepping stone to Hopkins and every other big payday in the light heavyweight division and guess what? YOU CANNOT USE KOVALEV AND BIG PAYDAY IN THE SAME SENTENCE... DUMB ASS.

Stevenson the superduck paperchamp. One good win against a shot Dawson with a lucky punch and some people ride his ****. Good to see the majority here knows what up. Krusher time.

Yeah and after that he accidentally beat Cloud and Bellew... I guess they were unintentional wins.
And you say that "and some people ride his ****" and after that you ride Golovkin's and Kovalev's **** with no problem, despite Stevenson's win over Dawson (even if someone think he was "shot") is better than any win in the resume of Kovalev or Golvokin and that's a fact (or you can say that Cleverley or Campillo is a bigger feat of arms, than Dawson, but c'mon...).

Not Stevenson or Hopkins, that's for sure.

Stevenson's only obligation, like most fighters, is to his health and his wallet.
At 37 years old he is justifiably choosing the most lucrative options available.
It's only hard to understand if you're an idiot.
And as far as their resumes go, Stevenson's Knockout of Dawson trumps anything that Kovalev has done, simply because it made Stevenson the true Lineal Light Heavyweight Champion of the world. Cleverly may have beaten Bellew, but both are at a similar level in my estimation. Campillo lost to Shumenov AND Cloud before Kovalev knocked-out the left-overs. And Silakh was a one-time prospect who was knocked out by Denis Grachev the year before Kovalev beat him. Tavoris Cloud was a rugged former champion who had never been stopped, so Stevenson pummeling him into submission was more impressive than the Kovalev KO victories that you mentioned.
If you just don't like Stevenson, for no good reason, then you can admit it, but it's foolish to call him a coward or to try to downplay his achievements.
This dude must be a fl0mo. Fans nowadays, I guess legacy doesn't mean **** anymore.

                Sigh. Thanks Floyd.

PS Nobody told Stevenson to turn pro so ****ing late. Stop with the age bull****. It's not like he's been in any war

Fonfara was having problems against a faded Campillo, so I highly doubt he'll beat Adonis. I wouldn't mind being wrong though.

You say he only has a few fights to make money, but he took less money to fight Fonfara (bc he wants to milk his title). Your saying Kovalev is the least lucrative fight but please tell me what LHW he would make more money against, I'd say only maybe Hopkins (and I'm not positive on that bc Hopkins will get the bigger cut). You say this is a stay busy fight to debut on Showtime but this fight was being planned long before he even signed with Haymon and definitely before Showtime was even in the picture. You say don't use Kovalev and big payday in the same sentence but HBO was putting up around $3million for the Kovalev fight with Adonis to make 2/3 of that. Do you really say $2million is not a big payday?

Adonis is clearly ducked Kovalev. The two were showcased on the same card to fight eachother and then Adonis would even utter his name in the post fight interview. Then he ducked a fight with him to take an easy one against Fonfara and then once he moved over to Showtime and there was no way to fight him, he started talking all kinds of trash against Kovalev and nuthuggers like you buy into it. Where was all this confidence from Adonis when the fight was being pushed by HBO?
