The point is he can't fight Canelo every time out and he still has 3 more fights to go.

And a rematch seems a bit less likely now that Oscar seems to be taking more control over Canelo's career.

Word is, the party has been going on nonstop for the past 3+ weeks. They're so twisted, they forgot to release the buys figure.

Floyd doesn't fight on regular Showtime. He fights on PPV. So why would someone subscribe to Showtime when they still have to pay to see floyd fight?

Showtime signed Tyson to a similar deal 16 or 17 years ago, he was a bigger star than Mayweather, and…HBO still runs boxing. HBO still had 17 of the top 20 rated boxing programs on television last year. JMM/Alvarado and JCC/Vera 2 are the highest-rated fights of 2014 so far.

Basically, if the idea of the Mayweather contract is "exposure", it will fail.

lol what a ****** thread by a floyd apologist and it's no surprise all the other fanboys agree with him.

as if showtime is just a start up business or they just branched out to boxing...they're not, they've been doing boxing for a long time.

when they signed up floyd they were looking to profit right away and for every fight at that until the fulfillment of the agreement. when floyd's contract is done that's it there's no more benefits to showtime.

if there's an increase in showtime's subscribers because of boxing, it's not about floyd...how can that be when floyd's fight are all ppvs? what really brought life back to showtime's boxing are the gbp fights being exclusive to showtime...and they can thank hbo for that. hbo got rid of gbp and haymon to the benefit of showtime.

Pathetic to see all the TMT underwear wearing Mayweather groupies clamour for excuses and justify the losses that Showtime will inevitably make, they even put down improved ratings for CBS as a whole all down to Mayweather lol1:

Showtime fanboys are obviously not even subscribers of the network. They can't distinguish between PPVs and subscription-based fights...

A lot of people were duped into buying subscriptions with the thought that the Mayweather collaboration would generate truckloads of profits, and hence fund and produce many non-PPV fights for subscribers. Didn't happen. Fights are rare. The clueless Espinoza laser-focused on justifying their Floyd investment every year, then the next. GBP got lots of recognizable names which HBO helped build up. Yet they're not fighting each other.

This thread should have been deleted after the opening post.

Why some posters felt the need to come in and defend the ridiculous opening post... I'll never know.
