I wouldn't go as far as leaning towards Cotto in this fight given the sheer amount of advantages Martinez has being a much bigger, slicker, and harder-hitting lefty, but Martinez's history of injuries and under-performing in recent fights makes this damn near 50/50 in my book.
I favor Martinez to win, but not without concern or reservations.Comment

Seriously, I've been saying this since day one. The people claiming Martinez will win or even KO Cotto or the ones hoping Martinez will be at at least 70% are just in denial.Originally posted by ßringerThis is why I don't understand those who are predicting Martinez via easy KO. Martinez has been dealing with advancing age and nagging injuries for the last few years. His knee can be totally fine going into the match but blow out again at any time just like it did in his last fight.
I think a lot of guys are expecting the Martinez that fought Williams to show up on June 7th and, frankly, I'm not sure that guy even exists anymore.
I'm a fan of Martinez before Cotto but you gotta be realistic. Martinez is done.

They mention in ESPN deportes on Friday night that Martinez has not spar or run for fear to reinjure his hand or knee, that he is just doinf light shadow boxing and hitting punching bag (not Rios) and other minor things.
I think Sergio is in it just for the money, but in spite of all that I still pick him to win.Comment
