With the Pacquaio vs. Rios fight, even more troublesome. Pacquaio receiving $20 million guarantee, Rios $4 million, and this isn't including the undercard. And the PPV buys were under 450K?
Promoter make a killing in boxing when arum says he is disapointed in Manny numbers its bc his cut is lowered, CBS/Showtime deal Floyd signed gurantees him a certain amount Manny gurantees are mostly paid by Arum and he fits most of bill, he used to gurantee Manny only 6million. So his cut is smaller, promoters dont shell out much past the guarantees. Site fee, advertising and purse unless he has a deal like floyd has. Showtime just has to have subscription base go up that their big payoff

Losing money for big corporations is fun. Why is everyone so worried about Showtime

punkweather is NOT a superstar nor is he a ppv star in thetraditional sense by any means, NOBODY buys a Mayweather fight to watch or admire Mayweather they watc and buy his fights in hopes that they shut his punk ass mouth up once and for all,and simply put the more credible the perceived threat the better his events sold, Delahoya and Canelo fights sold big because of them and the public hoping the whup that punks ass, and in oscars case he came exteremely close,Truth is Mayweather will never be a hero or a superstar and now even less that he got hiss ass romped by Maidana and walked away with a gift decision lumps and all...

Those number are telling a story just like Pac vs Bradley number are telling a story. A story that thes top two promotional companies in the sport dont want to face. I think that the story is that many boxing fans are making a statement to TR and GPB that we are not going to continue to shell out hard earned money for just any fight involving Pac or May, if you cant get us Pac vs. May. Arum knows he is running out of options with Pac so he goes back to the JMM well and GBP and co are going to feel the pinch as well. Showtime and HBO are guilty too.

Why are ppv numbers always worthy of an article? I could care less if they sold 1 or 1million.

Not making excuses it is the truth. These guys for big events charge every outlet possible. They make money on these events that you and I don't even know. Unless you are their accountant you cant say other wise
