I never said Floyd was greater than Ali dumb-dumb. You're another fine example of a hater.

This forum is not a reflection though. This forum is filled with haters and a lot of nonsense opinions that most outside don't share. And don't get it twisted, a lot of the haters are secretly fans of him. They are literally always the first to make threads about Floyd, the first to post or reply to threads about him, and they are the first to tune into the PPVs to watch his fights.

I'm not going to say that Floyd's Money persona didn't help him. But success begets more success. He's become such a superstar that for people to still try to say, folks buy his fights just to see him lose, is pure nonsense. It's one of the greatest myths.

Poorly promoted... lmao. Floyd has signs up during Manny's fight, *****'s were loving it except now it was badly promoted. No, it was just a **** fight that no one wanted to watch. They could have paid me $75 and had Miss Jackson give me a free blowj*b and I still wouldn't have paid to watch it.

          • I don't believe the numbers that they're putting out. It doesn't add up. Here, you have the 4th highest gate, a sellout, with over $15 million in receipts which is a success within itself and shows that fans were interested in seeing the fight but some how the ppv doesn't do well, makes absolutely no sense at all.

1.5 million on advertising!? BWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It costs 3 million for one 30 second ad for the Super Bowl. It's proabably an easy 500k for the same during an NBA game and there were a lot of those. Also... the ****ing cable company takes half RIGHT off of the top 63 million instantly gets cut to 31 million. They couldn't even cover Floyds purse >.>

I doubt Showtime/CBS cares that Floyd had "good numbers against an opponent that was never on PPV." Floyd also had the "most expensive" undercard ever too...which didn't help...

Pacquiao did almost 800K without even close to the money invested in the undercard...

Pac-Marquez V will clearly outsell Floyd-Maidana II....Floyd can't gain PPVs by putting Canelo on the undercards anymore...

While true, it was still an expensive event. Pacquaio got an $18 million, Bradley got $6 million. The undercard was around $600K. So overall, the cost of the event was not far off. And then it sold under 750K? I don't see many of you talking about how HBO is hurting because of Pacquaio and Top Rank.

With the Pacquaio vs. Rios fight, even more troublesome. Pacquaio receiving $20 million guarantee, Rios $4 million, and this isn't including the undercard. And the PPV buys were under 450K?

Why do you even brought up Manny? How was it not poorly promoted? Did they had a city-to-city press tour outside of Las Vegas? Besides the Guerrero fight, when was the last time Floyd had a PPV fight where he didn't had a city-to-city press tour? **** fight or not, it was a poorly promoted fight.
