I'm not going to say that Floyd's Money persona didn't help him. But success begets more success. He's become such a superstar that for people to still try to say, folks buy his fights just to see him lose, is pure nonsense. It's one of the greatest myths.

Floyd gurantee was 32 Million
Maidana 2 million

I don't believe the numbers that they're putting out. It doesn't add up. Here, you have the 4th highest gate, a sellout, with over $15 million in receipts which is a success within itself and shows that fans were interested in seeing the fight but some how the ppv doesn't do well, makes absolutely no sense at all.

Pacquiao did almost 800K without even close to the money invested in the undercard...
Pac-Marquez V will clearly outsell Floyd-Maidana II....Floyd can't gain PPVs by putting Canelo on the undercards anymore...Last edited by Snake4380; 05-19-2014, 06:21 PM.

With the Pacquaio vs. Rios fight, even more troublesome. Pacquaio receiving $20 million guarantee, Rios $4 million, and this isn't including the undercard. And the PPV buys were under 450K?

No, it was just a **** fight that no one wanted to watch. They could have paid me $75 and had Miss Jackson give me a free blowj*b and I still wouldn't have paid to watch it.
