    Why?

    ACTION! EXCITEMENT! RATINGS!

That's right, this weekend we actually saw an exciting HW title fight, between two evenly matched fighters and witnessed an action packed, exciting fight with the WBC title on the line. Kudos to Arreola and Stiverne for bringing it and fighting like they wanted to be a champion.

The Klitshckos have nothing but contempt for the sport and their fans. They see world title defences as a an extension of their business machine to build their empire and nothing more. They don't care about the fans. The fights are so awful to watch. K2 are happy to serve up a never-ending dirge of unentertaining, meaningless garbage fights against tomato can opponents. And then, if a worthy opponent finally manages to get a shot, Wlad will turn it into a wrestling match until he squeezes all the life out of his opponents legs. The Povekin fight was an embarrassment to boxing.

So, please WBC, stick to your guns and do not allow this belt to be unified.
Don't worry Don King is not going to risk losing the belt on his first defense the safer bout is Wilder who's untested against elite fighters his best win is Charlie Z

Slavery is wrong. But if black people were getting away with holding white ****** then white people would be in their right to hold black ******. Some form of justice/retribution is better than none.

that's not the argument, the argument is there is no money in the HW division because the titles are all in the hands of one guy who defends against the likes of Pianeta and Leapai while others are scared to fight each other for fear of missing out on a mandatory shot (see Pulev right now).

Let Stiverne keep the belt, and we see good heavyweight title fights. Take it off him and the division dies again.

I'm a boxing fans, I want the best HW contenders to fight the best. That's not going to happen if Wlad takes the belt and the money out of the game and into his backyard to fight the Leapais of the world.

So you think slavery is ok as long as both sides are doing it, so you support slavery. Nice to know. Lets come back to reality now

Contenders (with few exceptions) have been fighting everyone but each other, padding their records and waiting for Wlad to look their way. Now that there is a belt involved, maybe they will actually start fighting each other, and we will get to see some decent, competitive HW fights.

I'm not saying Wlad should NEVER be allowed to unify. BUT it will be better for the division if he doesn't annex that belt RIGHT AWAY. Plus he has a mandatory challenger that has already waited for almost a year.
People should read this post and actually take note if they want to see good heavyweight fights.

So is Lucas Matthysse......Stiverne is Haitian. I'm all for the Americans and Brits trying to take it off him, but I don't think they will be able to.

The problem is that some guys here are religiously obsessed with unification and one champ per weight class, and they can't understand that it's not always the best thing for fans, fighters and boxing in general.

How exactly does a belt make fights better? Arreloa -steverne could have fought without the belt, in fact they did. FIghters make the belt, not the other way around

You do know fighters can still fight without paper belts, right?

The fights actually get made. They're all lining up to fight Stiverne now. The belt and title changes everything, and brings money in.

You think the likes of Thompson, Haye and Fury etc would want to fight Bermane before? No, they were sitting on their hands hoping for Wlad to look beyond Pianeta and Leapai and towards their direction.

The one champ per weight class only works if there was one belt and that champ fights the next best consistently instead of taking his pick from the weakest of 5 mandatories and weak voluntaries in between while the rest of the division waits around fighting for peanuts against overmatched opponents.
