Stiverne isn't from the U.S. (although he is living in Vegas I believe) but he does qualify as being from the Americas.

If you are against anyone holding belts hostage than I am on your side. But if you only want to apply this to certain fighters and not to others then I can't sign off on that.

There has to be a level playing field. One group of boxers can't be expected to do the right thing while another group gets a pass.

      action excitement ratings?

it desnt matter who has the wbc title because there isnt a heavyweight worth watching regardless of what titles he holds.

        Why?

        ACTION! EXCITEMENT! RATINGS!

That's right, this weekend we actually saw an exciting HW title fight, between two evenly matched fighters and witnessed an action packed, exciting fight with the WBC title on the line. Kudos to Arreola and Stiverne for bringing it and fighting like they wanted to be a champion.

The Klitshckos have nothing but contempt for the sport and their fans. They see world title defences as a an extension of their business machine to build their empire and nothing more. They don't care about the fans. The fights are so awful to watch. K2 are happy to serve up a never-ending dirge of unentertaining, meaningless garbage fights against tomato can opponents. And then, if a worthy opponent finally manages to get a shot, Wlad will turn it into a wrestling match until he squeezes all the life out of his opponents legs. The Povekin fight was an embarrassment to boxing.

So, please WBC, stick to your guns and do not allow this belt to be unified.
so basically your are saying you are for corruption in boxing? forget who the best fighter is, just hand over belts to the most popular guys and pretend they are the best.

i agree the best thing for boxing is getting rid of wlad, but if he is the best he is the best and should be the guy with the titles. if he puts on **** fights thats a shame but this is a sport not the wwe, its real competition and whoever climbs all the way to the top deserves to be recognized as the best.

besides, there is nothing stopping these kind of HW scraps to continue even if they arent for a title. did you really enjoy the fight more because the vacant wbc title was on the line, especially knowing the true champion is wlad anyways?

wilder needs to get he next shot simply because he was named mandatory challenger and it would be highly unethical to not exercise his right to fight for the title after that. you make him number one contender you have to stick by it, period. there is so little integrity left in this sport we cant afford to let the last of it slip away, that applies both to wilder getting his shot next as well as wlad getting his shot down the line.

You either support it or you dont, stop playing both sides now that an "american" has a belt, Its rather pathetic.

I cant believe OP has posted this crap, one of the most ridiculous statements I have read on nsb.

So are we allowed to keep one of the WBC belts in australia, since you are allowing certain countries to keep a belt locked away?

After watching saturday night, I've come to the conclusion that overall, the division will be better off without a Klitschko as a champion. Wlad brings zero excitement to the table!

Nah it's just that Saturday heavyweight title fight felt different compared to past ones. And it's because it was an exciting fight that changed with one punch. Wlad is just horrible! GGG is literally 10 x more exciting and worth watching than him.

I understand that wlad isnt the most exciting boxer out there but been a world champ doesnt actually require you to be exciting, you just have to win the belts.

You can still have exciting fights even if they arent for a world title.
