We have people saying Maidana won atleast 4 of the first 6! It's insanity to me. Albeit that's pretty seldom really.

Yeah to me his decline has been so obvious. A lot of punches JUST missed him by a whisker in this fight, he's so ridiculously slower in every aspect of his game.

The dominant victories over Guererro and Canelo have masked it, for me atleast it's pretty obvious how much he's declined despite that. Very similar to Roy Jones in his latter years at the top. The John Ruiz fight people acted like he was at his best ever because he dominated but it was pretty clear to me his reflexes were declining and fast.

Floyd is only going to continue going downhill from here. Porter I think has a very serious chance of beating him.

Despite winning the fight last night and against a top fighter in Maidana that's by far the worse I've seen him.
The rematch isn't as appealing after watching it a second time, Mayweather should most definitely move on before that decline hurts him against these other '47 pounders, namely Porter, Thurman. Agree with bold, especially offensively.

Margarito would have a GREAT shot to beat Floyd now, or at least a good shot.

BUT.....Floyd in his prime back in 06 wouldn't have lingered on the ropes, and Margarito is much much slower than Maidana, and doesn't punch quite as hard either.

Floyd would have been running around against Margarito like the Hatton fight, or even more so.

I agree, I know that most of the posters in this specific thread are legit (not fanboys), but Mayweather was only holding in the 12th while Chino was unloading. He usually does this in the last round (one of the few rounds that Canelo won in their fight).

This fight also reminded me of Whitaker-Hurtado in that Whitaker struggled because of Hurtado's awkwardness, Pernell however finished in great fashion although the ref should have been fired. Just similar from that kind of perspective.

            Very much so.

The rate he's declining I don't see him finishing his contract undefeated.

Second time I watched it I had Maidana winning.

Its fair to say Floyd has slipped. There were a lot of spots in the Cotto fight where I thought Miguel could have won rounds if he would have just moved his hands more. And that was a shopworn Cotto. Maidana's overhand/borderline illegal right was a brilliant tactic too. I'll give him credit on that.

Scoring it live I had it:

                    1 - Chino
                    2 - Mayweather
                    3 - Chino
                    4 - Mayweather
                    5 - Chino
                    6 - Chino
                    7 - Mayweather
                    8 - Chino
                    9 - Mayweather
                    10 - Mayweather
                    11 - Mayweather
                    12 - Mayweather

I couldn't believe it when after 8 rounds I had it 77-75 for Chino. It was there for him at that point, but he didn't have enough gas in the tank for one last big push going down the stretch.

Close rounds throughout for the most part though. Chino shocked me. I never thought he could close the distance enough against Floyd to be competitive, never mind stand a chance of winning.

After a second viewing you can see Maidana was missing alot of those punches while Floyd was on the ropes.

                      I had it 8-4 Floyd
